Do you think could still be module even if only 1 plug showing a fault thanks
Nel- its quite easy to do number 1, all i done was pull engine cover off, remove glow plug lead with long nose pliers, soak plug in wd40 and get engine nice and warm , use deep 10mm socket to undo and opposite to refit, take your time removing mine was stiff and did take couple of threads with it but new one went in nice |

Cheers for that, I thought you had to take the manifold off for the glow plugs, but i guess gp1 is easier to get to.
I think I have my old glow plug somewhere at home, which wasnt the problem on mine if you want for 20 quid. Have you got a photo of where gp1 is by any chance? |

Absolutely could be the module.
Not wishing to put anyone off but we've had some awful difficulties with N47 glow plugs. Some that shear, some that detach leaving the filament behind, some come out with the filament chipped leaving a sliver to drop into the pot. Some that unscrew but maul the thread needing a chase with a tap. In the end it became my policy to always renew glow plugs if a cylinder head was coming off on an N47. Some do just come out nicely of course but we've had some really bad ones. Patience is essential and a warm engine benificial. If they are even a bit tight after they start to move go slow and steady. |

Just another thought bmw revised the part numbers on the glow plugs for this engine. I believe the newer ones are made by bosch.
I may be mistaken but im not not sure if its ok to mix them with the originals which were beru. |

The controller is more pricier however if you are thinking or replacing a flow plug or more than one. I suggest get a professional ready for glow plug extraction. I broken 3 out of 6 glow plugs on mine and its not fun to get them out
