My biker mates all went down to the Ring at the weekend - i was supposed to have gone down with them on my bike but as im driving the car down this weekend i thought it was too much. Anyway, they've just got home and called me. They said it was the busiest they have ever seen it at the Ring - thousands of cars and people queueing to get in for miles!! Lots and lots of accidents, unsurprisingly! But there were 2 bikers killed and apparently they banned bikes from going on the circuit, cars only. Have to say i dont think cars and bikes should be on the Ring at the same time, one or the other in my opinion. I love both cars and bikes and my first trips to the Ring were on my bikes but i dont think the two mix and im always nervous of bikers when im in the car on the Ring. Glad my mates got back all safe. They found a new route there and back and said it more than made up for not getting to go out on the Ring!!

I'm hoping it won't be that busy this weekend as many people will wait for the bank holiday weekend although DTM is on this weekend

Im not entirely sure, whenever we rode down in the past we always went the "scenic" route rather than the motorways as it was more fun - but took forever!!! Might be nice to find out though and drive back that way - will ask the chaps. Looks like I've finished my packing:

My trip starts tomorrow afternoon, when I meet up with Floyd & then onwards towards Watford for tomorrow night; a trip over to Birds to sort out Floyd's car on Thursday morning; a meet up with Tony & then meeting up with most of you at the restaurant on the evening, in preparation for the rest of the weekend.

Looking forward to a great few days with everyone.
