Dude, try the classifieds at radardetectorforum.org. Much more traffic there.

I've sent you two private messages regarding this radar detector, with no reply. I know you have seen them, but chose to ignore them. It hasn't worked since I bought it, and I did all the troubleshooting through Escort. It's going to require a $65 service.

You bought this from me in Feb, and contacted me the first week of April saying that you were having a problem. Sorry, I'm not interested in your sob story 60 days after purchase. If you had an issue within a week or two, I'd be here to help, but you didn't. You contacted me almost 60 days later saying that you were having an issue. This isn't Costco with a 1 year return policy. You purchased a used item that was in working condition when sold and 60 days later it isn't working. I'm sorry that its no longer working, but I am not accepting a return or a refund.

Here is proof. As stated earlier, I had been troubleshooting for awhile. At this point, I was still covered by PayPal's dispute policy. Had you responded, we could have handled it.

My apologies, 40 days later, not 60. Doesn't change my stance. I sold you an item that was working when it left my possession. You didn't contact me a few days after you got it, or a week later, or even 2 weeks later. You waited 6 weeks. Best buy doesn't even give you that long on brand new items.
But, I'm done. Feel free to keep whining and wallowing in your self-pity. I'm done responding and am walking away with a clear conscience. |

hmmm...
I could go either way on this. It could be a total coincidence that the RD chose to break down now. It's not unheard of. One of my X50's started flashing the dreaded "service required" message and that was it, had to be sent in. On the other hand, I have heard instances where the RD flashed that message and the owner sold it on ebay the next day. Wasn't me.

I bought a V1 from eBay a few years ago. I immediately tested it and was having issues with the laser detection. Seller refunded me the cost to fix…like $40.
Since it was so long from purchase to realizing there was an issue, maybe splitting the repair cost would be best? Just a thought…I know it's none of my business but I'm sure both seller and buyer would like an amicable ending to this…GL guys. |

He won't pay a dime, but I would be perfectly content with splitting the repair costs. I understand I didn't test it within a reasonable amount of time, but I could have atleast received a response before my PayPal protection ran out.
