The BSW alone will eat up 50% of that budget, and that's without replacing the woofers, OEM tweeter pods, adding an amp or fixing the OEM signal EQ curve.

Try something like this for less than $1000:

- JL Audio Cleansweep processor
- XD400/4 amp
- DLS PS 4A front (rear OEM speakers stay powered by the OEM HU)
- SSMB8 woofers
- Stereo harness
- OEM front speaker connectors
- OEM tweeter pods

An extra set of PS 4A for the rear and a XD600/6 will add approximately $250 to the total... installation can be DIY if you know your way with the OEM trim/door panels in your car.

Your trunk has several spots where both the amp and the processor can be installed. I would recommend doing a search for installs with photos in E90 so you can have ideas of where to install all this.

As always, you can get professional install as well. All these recommendations are primarily for experienced DIY'ers as at least they require knowledge of their own cars trim disassembly.

If you are in the Bay Area, I would suggest talking to Rick at Peter's Auto Radio on Lombard, in the city. Nice guy, spoken with him several times, he's done installs for us before.
