Yes, I know that. I even mentioned it's illegal but I was just wondering if it can be done.

Besides that, I think Hass probably has tunes that in some ways are superior to some of the canned tunes available on the market. No need for him to copy anything. I'll answer for him, yes you can copy a purchased tune but you need the knowledge and tools. Those are not likely to be openly discussed here. Posts and forums members are likely to be BANNED. Have you noticed who pays to keep these forums open? |

rjahl W37V Lol Guys please chill! I don't know alot about software or programing/coding, after reading Hass's thread it just made me curious as to how AA or BPC even protects their work from being copied. That's why I asked if it's really that simple to copy a tuned DME file.
And according to Rjahl's answer it apparently IS that easy to copy an AA or BPC tune. I WAS NOT ASKING HASS TO DO ANYTHING UNETHICAL OR OUTRIGHT ILLEGAL BY STEALING AA OR BPC TUNES. I fully support and appreciate everything AA and BPC is doing for our NA cars. I was just curious as to how they protect their work and if it was really that easy to just replicate like the way Hass replicated his stock DME file. That's it!

It isn't as easy as you suggest. Sure, if you take out and open up your DME and build the special cable and learn how to download the contents of the chip you could probably copy it... But that's not the same as "easy". And why take the time to do all that and not actually make anything new and put something better out there?
The whole idea is to build a *better* tune, to add to the community, not take something away. |

Oh man. Can of worms = open.
Look, I am NOT interested in copying BPC, AA, or anyone else's work. Yes, its possible and I could do it - but DON'T ask because the answer is no. I can't and won't help you. Not because its "illegal" (good luck with that one - *every* BMW tuner on earth is using stolen BMW IP, one way or another), but because it's wrong and I don't want the Bimmerlabs name tainted. Besides that - while we still have a long way to go, I believe we already have more original IP than almost anyone else. Not only is copying tunes wrong, it's uneccesary because we have better tools and deeper knowledge anyway. |

Can anyone review these instructions on flashing the 330i GM transmission file using WinKFP? I took the instructions from an Alpina transmission flash thread and found the 330i ZB number somewhere here.
Code:
1. Open WinKFP 2. Press (F1) comfort mode 3. Press (F2) Choose ZUSB 4. Choose ECU GM1912 5. Find ZB 7587776 6. Click OK 7. Press (F4) 8. Enter my VIN 9. Click OK 10. Press DONE (F8) 11. Press (F3) Program Pop up window will say you can code the ECU X more times - click OK Flashing begins. Wait until it reaches 100% twice. The first bar will finish rather quickly and then another bar progress of 100% will take about 3-4 minutes. If successful, pop up screen saying programming done - click OK Shut off car by taking key out. Lock car with key, wait 5 minutes. Start the car. Should not have any warning lights or CEL. Should work. Another option is I could put that file up on Bimmerlabs and it would come with the batch script that flashes it for you (about 30 less steps, lol).

Lol BimmerNugget with some stupid questions.
Again, big props to Hass/Terra/etc who've been working on pushing the envelope more and more with N52 tuning. Without them, we wouldn't be able to take advantage of making LCI 330i E9Xs. After loading the Bimmer Labs 330i flash with the 3 stage manifold, I've got newfound appreciation for my 328 that I never had before. Simply awesome.

Everything 6ixSpd said car drives so much better now. The mild increases I first saw were much more noticeable after clearing adaptations and driving it for a few more days. Loving it.

They've offered it for a while. The general consensus around here was that it probably isn't on par with BPC/AA. That said, I don't believe anyone around here has actually tested it..
Perhaps Turner could sponsor a member's car so that we can have some dyno results? Probably not, though. They have enough name recognition to sell products without worrying about forum presence. |

It might just be seat-of-the-pants numbers, but the performance of my 6MT wagon is crazy better with the tune... *and* the fuel economy is looking a heck of a lot better... like, hovering around 33 on highway stretches it used to hover around 28

Hi guys, I'm from Sydney, Australia.
I have 125i 2009 model that has the 3 litre n52 defined from factory. It has the stage 3 DISA manifold from factory and it's detuned to 215HP which is less than the US 128i version. I was wondering if the 330i tune would work on my car. Thanks in advance. |

www.bmwarchive.org/m-code/n52b30u1.html http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=11_3756 Looks like there are two different versions based on whether option code 1CB (CO2 package) is present or not. I have tunes built for both versions in the dropbox folder. |
