Wheel spacer question

I have a base model D with the 17" wheels with 225/45/17's. I really don't like the what looks like reversed stagger look, but I don't want the expense of new wheels and tires. would putting a 12mm in the front and a 15mm in the back space them equally and get them flush with the outside of the fender? or would it be more like a 10 and 15 or some other combo? You want billet aluminum spacers NOT forged aluminum because when it heats up it will expand and contract and loosen over time, then your wheel will fall off on the highway. You will also have to make sure every bolt is torqued correctly too or you will have balancing issues. I personally just wouldn't do it. Save up for the rims. It'll look better and be safer.

I appreciate the concerns...but i dont think new wheels will ever be in tbe works....too many other hobbys and interests. Looking closer at the car this morning it looks like about 3/4 of an inch in tbe front and 1.5 inches in the back would do the trick. But i dont want any rubbing issues.

I have run 10mm Front and 12mm rear on the stock 17s (my winter wheels) with no rubbing problem, however I have chosen to not run spacers this winter and there is considerably less vibration in the car. This could just be my luck with spacers though.

Buy quality spacers and you will be fine. 12F 15R or 15F 18R will both work with the latter obviously pushing them out a tad more.

FWIW, this post would get more and better answers in the wheels/tires forum. When it comes to wheel fitment, practically speaking our cars and the 3XXi cars are the same.
