Hi,

Trying to diagnose my friends 2011 e92 328i xdrive. After work he got in his car and if would only crank but not start. Had it towed home and its been months.

Now, I scanned with ISTA and the DME is green. I didnt get any codes.

The battery is charged and the starter got replaced and it will only crank but not start. On the idrive there is a malfunction for the DSC.

Where should I start from? Quite an interesting problem. There is 1/4 gas in the tank. I could hear the fuel pump prime when I ran the ISTA priming procedure.

I had ISTA carry out the valvetronic learning position which returned successful. I double checked by removing the oil cap and the numbers were pointing straight up. They rotate slowly clockwise when cranking and reset when it stops cranking.

Where do I look?
