Stuck Oil Filter Cap
So today after work I was going to change my oil and well things didn't go as planned, my oil filter cap was stuck shut and couldn't get it to break loose. I tried using my blue point oil filter pliers like every time in the past and has worked fine but this time I couldn't get it loose and my finger ended up getting sliced open and got blood all over my engine bay lol. Any recommendations on how to get it loose?

Be aware that if the cap wrench you get is a little loose on the oil filter cap, you can fill the space with layers of aluminum foil. Been there, done that.

the cast oil filter cap tools are much nicer for not a lot more money.
the sheetmetal ones suck to get the filter cap back out of. https://www.amazon.com/Motivx-Tools-...r+%2Caps%2C175 I have this one and it doesn't suck. |
