Hey folks, it's a sad day for me. I have a thread "WTB: catless downpipes for x-drive" this person reached out to me (bnweurotuning) pm'ed me and told me he/she has a set of downpipes. I was super excited as I just bought my car. The scammer sent me a picture of the downpipes, I liked them, so on, so forth. We agreed that I will give half the payment right away and then I will send the rest when the scammer ships it. I sent $115 USD through PayPal about 24 hrs ago I was told they were going to be shipped the following morning. so now it's been a day I have not received any response from the seller. I am a 19 yr old student and I can't afford to loose $115. I'm really upset I struggle to pay for my university and this happens, it really hurts I don't make much, but whatever I make I love to spend on my n54. I really hope no one else goes through this AGAIN THE USER IS: bmweurotuning stay away from this account ANY SUGGESTIONS OR HELP I WOULD APPRECIATE. THANKS |

Did you use goods and services on PayPal? Because if you did you can contact PayPal and start a claim against the user

Hey Daniel, I did but it's a hassle. I will definitely try but it hurts after all the excitement I had for these DPs. I know there just downpipes but now I'm scared to trust and buy anything on thread. I really liked e90post buy and selling thread, but now it's different

The important thing is to get your money back .lf you sent the money the right way you should be able to get your money back that's what PayPal is for.

Maybe he is busy or something. I would give it more then a day to think you got scammed. Based on your time stamps on your texts you don’t seem very patient. Some people
Have stuff come up etc. just a thought. |

kanovic, I agree with you but maybe just a reply or anything to hint that "hey I'm still giving what you payed for" would be nice. idk I am impatient too.

Any updates? I personally would have given him a bit more time to respond then 1 day before calling him out as a scammer on the forum. So did he respond to you? Or hear anything from PayPal?

So u didn't get your money back from PP? I had the same thing happen back in 2013 for a sey of wheels sellimg for like $1400 which was a steal obvioisly, and the guy never sent them. The guy wanted me to us the PP gift method with i should have clued in on but thankfull i didn't so i was protected and was refunded 100%. It took like 2 weeks to get the money back but i always thought that is what PP was for basically. To protect seller/buyer and allow for money sending. Good Luck! And be patient with PP.

Duck70, I agree 100% brother.
as long as I'm living I will keep reposting his new fake name so ppl are aware, as he is changing it to hide himself |

rusty_sojah, I'm working with PayPal but the fact that he refunded me and declined it doesn't help and conflicts with pp but I should be getting my money back, but will need time.

If you used a credit card through PayPal call your cc company they will refund it faster. Had a similar issue with pp luckily I used a cc.

Same. And when i emailed PP to dispute my issue the 1st time i mentioned tjat my next move would be to my CC company who would refund me no questions asked PP responded to give them a couple days to resolve as a 1st step and they did pretty much double protectiom but i think it may have motivated PP not to give me the runaround and to resolve quickly.
