Ashwin is just the nicest guy you would meet...

He helped me with coding my LCI tails along with some other minor features today!

Quick, painless, nice long chats about CARS...

Hi Laguna,

Do you think you can do the coding to have the alarm 'chirp' or 'beep' every time the door is locked or unlocked?

the only way that is possible is if you have the oem alarm retrofitted.

Playground beat me to it. Sorry bro, not unless you have the factory alarm system installed.

Check with BMW HK. My understanding is that if your car doesn't "chirp" or "beep" when you lock it, you don't have the alarm installed.

Actually, there's an easy way to check. Hold down your trunk unlock button for 3 seconds and that should set off the panic alarm if it's installed. If you have iDrive, you should be able to turn on/off the "beep" from there. If not, I don't think it can be done through the BC stalk so we can help you code it in.

I tried it and it didn't 'beep', so no alarm installed........

Hi all I have coded a few bits on my e90 pre-LCI like digital speed display in cluster and disabling seatbelt chimes.

One item I don't understand about the effect is opening/closing windows/mirrors by keyfob. Shouldn't it be a default function? I can long press the lock button to close them and unlock button to open them.

Should that coding add in additional function?

US spec cars do not have the closing function enabled from the factory. Our Euro spec cars do. The only keyfob code worth doing is the folding/unfolding of mirrors with lock/unlock. This is the only feature that's not pregrogramed on our cars.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks! Likely my previous owner did that as I can fold/unfold the mirror by keyfob already.

I want to explore more coding feasibility on headlight but obviously my car is fitted with FRM1 which make my choice very limited (like AE DRL).

I am about to purchase the LCI tail light for my pre-lci E93.....

I read online that I can upgrade the tail without purchasing the expensive FRM3.

Will this coding work for this purpose ???

Much appreciateddddd

Yes, I can help you code your LCI tail lights without the FRM3 module. However I'm leaving for the US tomorrow for a month. Go ahead and purchase them and contact me when you get your lights. The coding can be done even without the lights installed, but I don't have time before I leave.
