I've been following this thread for the longest time and meant to post, but never got around to it til now. I got my E90 SE Ruby Black 6spd manual from Laval QC last November. I love it! The performance power kit for sure makes it stand out vs standard 335i.
Current mod includes Llumar Formula One ceramic tint 30% throughout, and just got H&R Sports springs and Bilstein Sports shocks last week. It'll be installed this week so i'm looking fwd to the drop/getting rid of the wheel gap and change in driving dynamics. Will keep you guys updated...for those of you who are still following this thread

Congrats and welcome. I know you will enjoy it - I sure do!

Let us know how you like the suspension mods. That is going to be on my to-do list pretty shortly I think.

Cheers!

Few days after installing Bilstein Sports shocks + H&R Sports Springs, about 150km of driving... I really like it! There is a review by SilverEmu which sums it up really well. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=710970
I actually prefer the ride of the Sports struts+springs more than the xi stock ones; it's firmer, cornering to be flatter, and definitely makes the car feel more confident. Also looks great!

Looks good!

What are your roads like in Ottawa? I see you still have what looks like the original run flats on. I find they are pretty brutal as it is and am concerned about making it worse.

Roads in Ottawa are fair I'd say, some good/bad, and this is comparing to Toronto where I'm from. But for sure better than any Quebec roads! I can feel the pavement more with the Sports suspension, but yet it feels more comfortable if that makes sense.... The xi stock suspension actually makes the car more bouncy and unsteady over rougher pavements. I was expecting the RF tires to tramline even more after installing the new suspension, but surprisingly they are performing OK.
I've a set of Continental ExtremeContact DW on my E91 wagon, 19" staggered setup as well and is planning to get rid of these RF tires and swapping the DW on the E90 SE... maybe end of summer

I can't wait to lower mine, I just keep going back and forth on what to get, I need to ride in one that has AM suspension to really make my decision.

Hey my car's at 117,500KM and only major problems were

1) cracked my 313M rear wheel. Replaced with APEX wheels
2) had to replace my water pump

Car is still driving great! I plan to drive the thing to the ground

Hey all. Have not checked into this thread in a while. My lease is up in a couple months and I have pretty much decided to keep this car.

Took a 2015 M Performance Edition for a test drive last week, and it was certainly the nicest F30 I've seen around here, but there are still many things I prefer about my E90.

It's been reliable and has under 40K on it. For the cost of the residual and the extended warranty it makes sense to just hang on to it. With the money I save by not leasing a new one I plan to put a few bucks into mods. Coil-overs and powder coating the 313s are first on the list.

Hope everyone else is still enjoying their SEs :-)

I have 110k on mine now, I drive the shit out of it. I plan on keeping it until it costs too much to keep haha I've had mine since March and I've put over 3k into it already, 90% of which was preventative maintenance, but still I'm a bit unhappy on that part.

I have a small squeak In the engine bay from either a belt or pulley that I need to get fixed and it will be 100% again, all that being said, I still love the car. After that, THEN I can actually start molding it. I can't wait.

Mine just hit 75K today, so heading out of warranty soon. Bit concerned about that but the car's never had an issue from day one, apart from a new alternator at 45k.

Hey folks, hope your SEs are still putting smiles on your face!

I just bought mine at lease end. It's been a good car so far, I expect to get lots more miles out of it, and the low residual made it a no-brainer.

One slight downer today though, took my 313s in to get them powder coated and found one of them has a crack on the inside bead that is not repairable. No way I will pay BMW prices for new one, but if anyone knows where I can find a serviceable 19x9 style 313 let me know. I'll have a look in the buy and sell thread also.

Otherwise I guess I will be looking aftermarket. Really like those wheels on Bobby's car in #1241. Anyone know what they are?

Cheers!

That sucks about the wheels man. What color were you going to powdercoat them? Bobby look like either VMR or forgestars. I have 114K on mine now and it has an oil leak from the oil filter seal or something. Gonna cost $850 to fix that. Fml.

However I have started modding it a bit. I have a Cobb CP and a JB4, what a difference the JB4 makes! Good luck with your cars, this gasket is a known issue on these so be careful.

I have an appointment this week for a recall for Vanos bolts. I had inquired a while back whether my car was affected and they told me no. Now I guess it is. No big deal will be glad to have it done.

Was going to go with black powdercoat, but for the cost of replacing 1 313 and having them coated I can pretty much buy a whole set of black VMR v710s so I am leaning that way now.

Considering a Cobb or JB4 myself also but it just got pushed down the list LOL Such is life.....

Cheers!

Where are you from? I bought mine around the same mileage as you. I did all filters, oil change, spark plugs, Waterpump and thermostat and a wheel bearing. Now my filter seal/gasket needs replacing. FML lol but it's an awesome car, most of that was preventative maintenance so take that how you will.

Took my car in for the Vanos bolt recall on Thursday, and they said wait, no there has been a mistake. Double checked their system and said no, my car is not affected.

Not sure what happened but at least it is on the record if there are any issues in the future.
