If there are any cosmetic changes, they will be minor; just a mid-cycle refresh if anything, and not a major redesign like the intro of the '07 E92. btw -- my original question about the DCT tranny for the '10 335i Coupe still remains for anyone with some possible "inside" info.

Maybe so, but I currently have the 6AT w/ Paddles and love it...it shifts with lightning-quickness (100ms shifts with virtually no upshift delay) already so I guess I wouldn't cry if I got my 2nd tranny choice for my new '10 335i either.

I find it very weird, the market being so soft means you write your ticket. Leftover 2k8 E90 335's 8k off. Leftover M3's 11k off, the same car people "pre-ordered" and paid over list for.

We all know BMWs are not selling very well at this moment, so why would someone knowingly lock themselves into something? It's as if they're in that M3 sight-unseen gotta have it way of thinking. But the economic climate is totally different today.

My order will be placed this July or August for a Sept-Nov. delivery (depending on if I do ED or not), so do you really think the economy, MFs, financing, etc. will be any worse for consumers looking to buy/lease a new car in 3-4 months time from now? I highly doubt it.

Gentlemen...if you really didn't know it yet, things aren't exactly getting much better for the auto industry. We will be well into 2010 and possibly into 2011 before the auto mfgr's will become "more comfortable" again.

Really, guys? I'm not sure why a few of you are so confused about this? The simple truth is that my lease was ending at a strange time of the year, imho; i.e. May is right in between '09 and '10 MY cycles, so I simply decided to extend my lease and wait for the newer MY '10 model. In addition, my hope is in fact that the 7-speed DCT tranny will be available for the '10 335i Coupe, since it's already available in the '09 335i AND will be also available as an option for the '09 or '10 Z4. I really don't see what's so strange about waiting a few extra months to get the new model 335i. Personally, I think this is the smartest decision I could have made.

If you knew, how much was the auto transmission option? I am asking this since the DCT is a good deal more than the step.

For my '07 335i, the 6AT w/ paddles was $1,275 (+ $100 for the paddles), and I'm sure the 6AT (Step) option is more now; say $1,500. I believe the the DCT is supposed to be a ~ $2,500 option.

Does anybody know if they will have the Msport package immediately available for the facelifted 2010 coupe?

sflgator you say you didn't order it, but since you weren't interested did you even confirm it was available right out of the box?

Thanks.

I hope the dollar difference between your 2007 335i and the 2010 335i justifies your need.

inflation - I'm curious to see how it will affect car prices in the next year or two. Especially on the imports -
congrats on your order - Post some pics, I'm guessing we'll be waiting to see them around Oct - Nov

I am debating waiting on the E92 2010 model to see if I like the look more. In past years what was the cut off for ordering current year and next years model? Was there any overlap? I am hoping to see some good spy pics soon to avoid missing this years model run if I dont like the changes.

Msport package is currently available for '09 and '10 (I'm assuming), although I don't think I'm adding that since I will transfer my VS7 wheels and probably add the M3 rear lip spoiler and performance suspension instead. My CA wrote down that my first choice in tranny is the 7-speed DCT (if available); if not, then it's the 6AT Step again (which is fine too...love it! ).

I also don't understand all the animosity. Its not really that difficult. Dude likes to lease his cars. Old lease is up, time for a new one. 2010 model might have some features that 09 doesn't, no harm in waiting.

Listen, I hate to be the one to break it, but NOT EVERYBODY is struggling right now. For some people, putting down $500 to extend a lease is like buying a big mac for lunch.

Most people reading this forum drive BMWs. That means that most people on this forum should be recession proof. If you spent $40K plus on a BMW in 06 or 07 but now can't afford it because of "the recession" then you probably didn't plan well.

BL, anybody that ever spend 40 grand on a car should be able to understand how a person can put 500 bucks down on a lease and not think twice about how he maybe could have saved a couple thousand by buying an 08 model.

Dude, you don't want the DCT unless BMW fixes the lag issue.

The know about the issue and tell people it's "normal behavoir" for the DCT tranny.
When is it normal to have NO POWER when you step on the gas???

I know "a friend's" tune which fixes any lag issue.

Thank you. Finally, someone who sees it for what it is. And, yes, you are correct sir...the business I'm in isn't hit too hard by the deep recession; business for me remains very strong and it's also a major plus to be well reimbursed by my company for car expenses.

Please share if you know of a fix for the DCT lag.

Some bitch in a Volvo was able to cut me off yesterday because of the lag. I knew she wanted to move in, and I was going to close up the gap, but had NOTHING when I stepped on the gas.

Don't know if it's the same or similar to the lag in the 6AT or not, but I'm guessing you don't have the PROcede v3.2 (for your E90 335i, not the E92 M3 of course)???? Are you sure it's not just the low TQ (especially when <4k rpm) in your M3??? BTW - only 1/2 kidding on that remark, since there's virtually zero lag (and major TQ from 1,500rpm-7k rpm) in a tuned 335i.

I know that the PROcede v3.2 has a "lag fix" for BMW's newer s/w. If the lag you're talking about is specific to the DCT tranny only, then no, I don't know. However, I would be willing to bet that Shiv could figure something out; if not, then hopefully BMW will have an update that fixes the issue in the MY 2010 335i DCT.

Good points, but no, not in either of those businesses...although very tempting in this economy.
