Anyhow, it is a long driving loop that separates the Potomac from the Anacostia Rivers with parking spots along the drive and picnic tables in the median. I'm assuming it gets pretty packed on a nice day which would mean we'd have to get out there fairly early, say 9am or so. Regardless, this would be a great place to meet...and eat and have quite a few spectators out admiring the swarm of BMRs. Then afterward we could drive from there up GW parkway to who know's where.....Just a couple thoughts.

Also, feel free to add me to any volunteer list. Been an owner for 2 weeks now and should start pulling my own weight around here.

Thanks Swoop...I know exactly what you're talking about. I put this idea about Hanes point about the same time last year. What works for this location is the great settings for photography and the central location.

There are also ample picnic/bbq facilities.

Have to do another scout run to see what the situation is with tourist traffic.

Usually nice weekend afternoons you get a lot of Hogs out there and a lot of car enthusiasts and then there's always a number of tourists. I think if we're there early enough, we can eat up the parking spaces and takeover the picnic areas. Plus, I guarantee we'll see our cars in family "DC TRIP" photo albums....

Agreed, eventhough the Spring meet is smaller scale than the Fall meet, doesn't mean we shouldn't have a solid media capture plan.

. I just realized we have 3 DC metro members in the Top 10, (David (#10), AJ (#5) and oh myself (#2)). Can't say for sure what this all means but....
