Clear satin wrap? Could it be XPEL Stealth? If it is, leave it on!

Honestly keep it on for longer than that and see how you feel about it. It's paint protection, go out and tailgate people and stuff, and if you still feel that strongly about it then remove it.

Here's a proper farewell. So it was an Xpel Satin wrap that was done when the car was new. Was done for 7000.00 and everyone is telling me to leave it on. I love the Satin color. I would've thought it devalues its resale value just because people want to see the original oem paint. That was one of my worries was that I have no idea what is underneath. But i'm sure it's mint and I love it so i'm keeping it on!

The M4 still had me emotional as I dropped the Turbo S off for detail at the dealer.

Congratulations!!

Because Xpel satin is clear, you should bee able to assess any significant damage to the paint under the PPF. I'd keep it on too!

Congrats man! A similar bug hit me and I hopped into a 991 GT3, literally kissed my F80 M3 before I gave her away. Sales advisor didn't say anything as he's a huge car guy and understood my love for my old girl.

Nevertheless, the 991.1 TurboS is an absolute steal now. Porsche didn't limit the production so there's quite a few out there now for ridiculous prices. They're not doing the same for the 991.2 so those that are hoping to get the newest 991.2 a few years later for a similar deal to the 991.1, think twice!

And I'd keep the stealth wrap on if I were you. Protects the original paint and it looks badass.

And yet here we are on the M Forum because like you, the love for the M is still strong! Congrats on the GT3. It sure didn't feel like there is alot Turbo S out there. Right now there is probably about 3 used Turbo S in 500 miles radius of San Francico Bay Area. I was looking forward to the M8 but just can't wait that long and figured I better just stick with used cars.

M4 is a beautiful car, and one could argue as good looking as the Porsche, but not in the same league when you talk about the overall quality and driving experience.

Nice Whip!

Please never say 'detail' and 'dealer' in the same sentence ever again. :P

Haha, let me explain "detail"... i didn't want to bore everyone with how I bought the car but I bought it when it was not ready to be listed by Porsche. Basically it was a used Turbo S that the dealer just received and Porsche has this deal where, as soon as they receive a car in inventory to be sold... they list it under "coming soon" with no pictures. Well, with the San Francisco Area... Anywhere within a 200 miles radius is crazy hot market. So when I saw this thing Silver on Red/Black Turbo S... my favorite color I had to jump on it. I called the Dealer everyday for 2 weeks and they kept telling me "it's not ready. it's still going through inspection so it can be CPO". On Monday, I picked up the phone and asked for the general manager, he said "I have 5 guys that's already waiting for the car"... So after I hung up, I drove in.. we chatted for a bit, I buttered him up.. and he said "fine" we can always finish CPOing it after the sale. They were almost finished and were just waiting on 2 back tires to come in, then get it detailed and oh yes... the S on the back fell off .

The manager called one of his salesguy and told me "OK you want it? take a test drive with Gary first"... I said no i don't need to, i already test drove it... HE SAID "NO! If you want it, YOU MUST test drive with GARY!!". I did not understand until I test drove with GARY... and found out he is a track racer. Then I knew as he redlined it to 90mph slammed on the ceramic brakes and took a 90 degree right. He pulled over and looked at the techometer that measures G force and said "1.05 G, not bad... ok you're turn". At that point my head felt like it was gonna explode I swear. It took my 10 minutes to catch my breath and I drove it back like a 80 year old grandma on a sunday....

WELL THAT's my story! They are now just finishing it up and getting it into showroom condition. And honestly, I could not gotten myself to buying a 991.2 4s or S because the performance gap vs the M4 was not big enough. I have been a BMW owner for 20 years and as much as I wanted to wait for the M8... my heart and my exploding brains needed the Turbo S. ANYWAYS sorry for the long story... coffee still in my system

Don't waste the car, drive like Gary. 2.6 to 60mph. Awesome!
If I could afford that, I would have skipped the M4 all together. That's just me.

So what color is it under the wrap?
