Yeah I'm running the scoops too. I like their lower profile over the CYBA ones... our radiators are working hard enough as it is!

Forgot to mention now that the weather has warmed up, I removed the facotry thermostat and replaced it with a Stertman thermo delete plug. Bought it before I knew BMS has a MUCH cheaper option. Regardless, I highly recommend it for warmer weather cars. Oil still comes up to temp quickly enough. In the winter I will just switch back. takes all but ten minutes to do the swap.

Have you looked at correcting your suspension yet? THis just got bumped up on my priority list after hitting a bump at 120 mph and almost loosing control. I am somewhat dissapointed with IS floaty rear... Front doesnt feel bad, but rear is worse my e90 with sports package..

WHat are my options? I know BMW offers performance suspension upgrade, but not sure how good it is. ECSTuning Coilovers - Any experience with those?

It's really two things: the mushy subframe bushings, which you should really replace first, and then the floaty shocks. For the shocks, either go the budget route and replace with Koni Yellows, or go with full coilovers for about a grand more.

I'm going to replace the bushings with Powerflex units, and haven't decided on my path yet for the suspenders.

You saying keep the stock springs with stiffer shocks?

All those parts will help indeed, but if you want to cure rear end float and wander, it's all about the subframe bushings, damping, and then the rear suspension arms.

Stock shocks are actually under damped for the stock springs, so changing out just the shocks on your performance suspension will help. Won't be as matched as coils, but Koni yellows are adjustable in rebound...

Thanks man.. Bought brand new BMW performance suspension kit from 4sale section from a fellow IS owner. The kit includes everything and sway bars, so no need to go M3 route. Subframe bushings and front control arms are on order, now need to find a place to rent bushing tool, local BMW dealer dont rent tools anymore, and I dont feel like spending $300 on something that will be used once.

Do I need to lower subframe to do rear control arms? If so, then I mind as well do it all at once.. What do you think?

BTW, 5" ETS intercooler went in yesterday. Perfect fit, radiator fan had to be removed, that was a bit of a pain. Noticable improvement, snappier acceleration. Have exceed RFT's traction limits, so will wait till they wear out and will throw beefier michelins soon (shouldnt be very long).

Personally, if you don't have a separate set of track wheels, id run an extreme summer tire since it will be seeing track and street use.

Re-11 are phenomenal tires and own the pilot ss at the track. Pilots are solid, but are nothing compared to real extreme summers

Did PF suspension this week, and what a difference... Rear floatyness is gone, car feels much tighter and body roll is practically non existent. Didn't get to Subframe, will be doing that along with PF rear sway bar in the next month or two. So far very happy with the ride. Car dropped 1/4 inch in the front, but rear is sitting 1/2 inch higher. Don't know why, will measure again after alignment.

That really looks perfect! It's funny because I've been debating that exact setup, vs. Ground Control's street/school kit using stock sways. There are two schools of thought in combating roll and I lean towards the one that says stiffer springs are better than stiffer sways. But part of me appreciates the fact that the PF kit is "tuned" to work as a whole.

Do you know if your kit is the newer style, or the old one from about a year ago? Got a part number?

Also, did you realign it, and do you have any side profile shots? Can't wait to hear more detail on the ride after you've put some miles on her! Congrats

Finally got a chance to take a few pics. Alignment is done, and rear was completely out of wack. I have 15mm spacers in the rear, so keep that in mind.. I measured rear drop again, and it seems that suspension did settle a bit. It is still about 1/8 higher in the rear, but 1/4 lower in the front.

I am not sure whether this is newer kit or older.. How can I tell? I see 4digit part number on the bo 8975? Not sure if thats it..

Pics of rear sway bar bushings attached.. Judging by ECSTuning sway bar pics, these are not M3 bushings...
