Waterpump failure, how far can I drive?

Waterpump compltely failed on my 08' 335i.... Think it would be possible to drive the 12.5 miles from my house to the dealership?

Possibly, but not worth the risk IMO. Call a tow truck.

I think it's worth a 12.5 mile $100 tow to prevent a possible $5000 engine rebuild.

Exactly 0 miles if you don't want to risk engine damage.

With no circulation at all you will get hot spots quickly, if it was a mile or two I might chance it, but for 12.5 tow truck (or if you have all day you can drive 2 miles at a time and wait an hour for it to cool down in between 2 mile stints).

If it was my car, would not risk it!

I dont think its THAT serious where you cannot move the car. It is possible, but highly recommended that you dont. Though in the event where you would need to, the car would throw a CEL anyways if it got to hot and the car would be inoperable.

if you have warranty/cpo. The tow should be free. when my water pump went, drove my car lightly home (around 8-10 miles). I got a yellow coolant sign, never red. Got it towed from my house.

get a tow truck...see if someone has a AAA card to help you out with the tow...or call BMW and see what they can do for you.

Tow it for sure. This reminds me of the time I tried to drive my E30 325is to the shop when it had a bad radiator leak. It drove for about 10 minutes before I had to pull over and call a tow truck. These cars will heat up fast if that water isn't circulating.
