Oil Cooler Retrofit

I know this has been discussed before. I am gonna make an attempt to get BMW to do a oil cooler retrofit on my '07 335. I am the second owner of the car but it only has 13,000 miles on it, step tranny, and the sports package.

I understand under these guidelines it should qualify for the retrofit but is there anything else I need to know or can argue to get them to do it? I know the dealerships can be very stubborn when it comes down to this matter.

You a UMD student? If so I know I saw your car haha. I noticed it was a sport/step w/o oil cooler and I even commented oh shit I wish the best for him.

FWIW I got an oil cooler put on my 335xi (second owner, bought from manheim) w/ sport but w/o 18's. This is unheard of, and I think I am the only one so far.

With that being said, we own 5 bmw's, including a 2006 m5 and 2007 m roadster, so that helps things.

GL man! Try Gint (yellow team) at VOB, and if not, give BMWNA a call to help you out.

I recently called BMW of NA and they said no. I even spoke to a supervisor. My car has 16k miles. Good luck!

You qualify for a retro-fit candidate, except you are not the original owner...and most likely they will deny you. Contact BMWNA directly, don't go through the dealer

Good Luck.

You're all but screwed. I have an '07 sport step with 18's and called BMW NA several times and they said no luck because I'm the second owner as well. The dealer can try to pull some strings but it's extremely unlikely. I ended up paying for an AR Design cooler and retrofit parts for it and havn't made it to the track yet. It looks to be a high quality part though.

This really is a shame for you guys. I think it should not matter if you are the second owner.

yea im glad BMWNA is being so supportive of one of the strongest enthusiast based cars out there. I alone have owned 3 BMWs in my lifetime (M3, 645, and now this 335). I dont plan on changing cars, i still love bmw, but i could see how behavior like this would deter many people.

An oil cooler should be standard on all sport pkg 335s.

Should be with the 08s and 09s, but wasn't the case with all the 07's. Plus XI's (xDrive) have to get sport pkg AND 18" tire combo. Basically if your 335 goes to 155mph, you have oil cooler.
