Should this be of Concern?

Bought an 08’ 328i a few months ago, im new to this forum and cars, I barely know the basics but am eager to learn more. I purchased this car blind, i test drove it without even thinking of looking or asking about any problems it may have. It sounded and rode fine. A few weeks later, the engine began to knock and hesitate and has gotten worse over time especially when it gets hot, it drives and shifts smoothly only when cold.
(2nd & 3rd pic) I noticed this when I took off the cover, seems like a fire but what could’ve caused that fire? That lone cable is worrying lol.
(4th & 5th pic)
This is in the Amplifier area, could this have been from a leak?
Help and advice would greatly be appreciated!

I need to clean and what? Also by fixing the wiring do you mean like getting the proper sleeves? Thanks for answering.

First off, it is not fire, it looks like over heating, or Heat caused the plastic melting.
secondly, these cars are finiky when it come to diagnosing. so, Get yourself a proper code reader and scan your car to see what codes are there.
meaning, scan the codes.....take pictures of all the codes.
then delete the codes, clear them.....start car, and warm it up.
then rescan.....and see which ones came back. and tell us what codes you got.
Than we can tell you what is what.

just because you see wire not connected is not a reason to get suspicious.
This community is very help full.
if need be, PM me....my notifications of a post dont always come up.
