Can anyone recommend a good shop to have the headlights on my wife's 2010 335 checked out? The right side is "droopy" and Classic wants $2K to fix it. Didn't even try to look at it, replacement of the whole unit is apparently the standard answer for any issue.

BTW, BMW extended warranty does not cover headlights. GRRR!

Evan,

"Droopy" as in the light is leaning towards the ground? does it happen all the time or just when the vehicle is in certain positions?

There are a few places to check before automatically replacing the light itself, granted, if something is broken on the assembly that might be the only option, but not always the case.

I love classic, but not surprised to hear thats what they want to do, its all about the easiest fix for the dealerships and that usually involves an arm and a leg in terms of cost.

Yes, it's like the light is aimed to low, and it's like that all the time.

Try turning the adjusting screw and see if it will pop back into track, happened to mine a couple times after bad pot road conditions. I kept turning the adjuster until it popped back in. Initially I took off the bumper, opened up the headlight and made sure everything was in place. It looked fine so I thought it was the vertical motor, but then the adjustment knob trick worked for me.

Tried that when I first noticed and it didn't help, but I'll try it again just to make sure.

Selling the following:

Set of pre-lci E92 tail lights for $150, perfect condition.

Set of VMR 701 Matte Black, good amount curb rash. Asking $700 repaired and coated a color of your choice. Or make an offer for them as is. You'll need a fender roll to run the rears on an E92. I've decided to go with higher offsets and 285's in the rear.

I installed my own downpipes but it was a beast of an install. You're going to need someone with a lift and a lot of free time to donate. I think your best bet is to hit up Sammy and see how much he would charge you to install it. His prices are pretty reasonable.
