hi all-
just a quick post on the whole "charge the iphone with 6fl" question. it sounds like the phone is charging, though not at a strong rate. there is a blurb somewhere on www.wireless4bmw.com/info/CingularATT_iphone.pdf that says the phone is charging at 100 mA, and as such it doesn't show the charge. apparently there's a new 6fl plug coming that will allow a 500 mA charge, which will indicate there is a charge occuring. |

iPhone works 100% with my '06 E90. Only issue with phone quality and brief pause before connecting was resolved simply by turning off wi-fi. I had a Razr v3xx, HTC 3125, Motorola v635 in the past and this thing blows them all away on every level. Yah I know it doesn't have 3G nor GPS but I have BMWNAV and where I live (in the sticks) will likely never get 3G. Also with so many wi-fi hot spots I'm not too concerned.

This is interesting. I just saw hunter's iPhone. Coolest device ever. Hope the issues people are having with the E90 can be remedied.

I'm surprised no one reported that when trying to playback visual voicemail through the E90 with Bluetooth connection it doesn't work. It plays fine via the speaker of the phone and stays connected but not via the car speakers. If you dial the regular voicemail, it plays OK.

.....Uncharacteristic bad decision by Apple to recess the headset jack on the iPhone. Aside from creating a problem for those who don't like the Apple earbuds, the recess is a very efficient lint collector when carried in my pockets. ![]()

After a couple of weeks using the iPhone I have to say I am very pleased.
I have had no problem with pairing at all. It pairs right up with all four cars - one with iDrive, one without, and two with aftermarket Alpine units (9847 and 9885). Sound quality is fine. The only glitch is you have to remember to disable WiFi when using the BT in the car or else you get very choppy audio during phone calls. When connected the iPhone charges in each car. I normally use an iPod for audio and keep the iPhone out in the center console. If I need to charge I use the Monster charger plugged into the center console. My iPhone synced up perfectly with Outlook for my contacts, and all of them display perfectly. The iPhone's iPod plays through the speakers and sounds excellent. All tracks/podcasts/playlists work normally. I had one instance with my 1992 325i's Alpine 9885 where the audio came from the iPhone and not the stereo. The problem was resolved by turning off the car, connecting the iPhone with the car off, then powering up/starting the car. It has not happened again. Make sure the 30 pin connector is seated well. Voicemail has to be accessed the old fashioned way as discussed earlier in this thread. Visual voicemail is great, but listening to messages as we have in the past through a BT enabled audio system is hardly a problem. Pull over and take a break if you need to use the visual voicemail. I have not had the chance to see how the iPhone behaves with Call Waiting. Anybody had any success handling two calls with the iPhone connected to BT?

It uploads from your phone every time, I think. I can clear my car's phonebook by clearing the information on my phone (not an iPhone).

International prefix issue
Very helpful Points about the i Phone compatability. 1 issue that I am suffering from is that all my numbers are saved with international pre fix. + X xxX. The address book is shown in the Car However the + or 00 ore not shown. this automatically means that you cannot make any calls from the address book. Any solutions for that?
