Nice build mate. Saw ur car today at Jin's lol

Yeah can't wait to get my transmission built by PD. Havwnt been able to dyno it yet because of this.

As u may be aware I dynoed on MPC mainline dyno before I decided to build my motor (clocked 150,000km and due for one) at Advan. At 27.5psi it went to 419rwkw and yeah Lee used to be Simon's right hand man at Nizpro so they really strap it down tight. But with a Mainline u dun get much variation and cannot fiddle with it compared to maybe a Dyno Dynamics.

Now my compression is lower so I can run higher timing into it.. we will see how it goes.

But no qtr mile stuff with me loll Huge respect to u coz I went through all that in my golden days with the LS1s and Hsv cars. In fact I did that with Simon too back in my hey day (1st n/a car to break into the 11s). I know how hard it is to achieve ur goals and how frustrating it can be when ur almost there but not quite.

Keep it up though and let's beat the yanks at their game😜😀

Hey mate

Thanks for the nice words. Yeh sometimes it pretty hard to keep going when you're so close but still just not there.

When I took my car to Simon it was a FBO car but I wanted to take it to the next level. Nizpro did the Gearbox upgrade, Hexon turbo install, Port injection, Stage 3 pumps and AIC6 controllers and finished off with a flash only MHD custom dyno tune on e85. Car makes 375rwkw.

I have been a bit slack lately and haven't really headed to the track in 6 months. Hopefully when the weather improves post Sep I get some motivation to have another crack at a 10. The aussies are killing the yanks so far lol, you may have heard about the single turbo, 2 speed power glide e90 n54 in QLD run 10.1 sec. He will eventually dip into 9s. For me I want to keep the car as close to as factory setup i.e. twin turbos and zf 6 speed and hopefully get into the 10s.

Yeh car was at Jin's to do some routine maintenance work (hpfp, injectors, coils and plugs)

I have heard/ read some good stuff about MPC in bayswater and yeh I remember seeing your numbers somewhere was a pretty solid result for a stock motor, didn't know you rebuilt it through Advan.

So who is doing your gearbox upgrade? Is that PD in the states? and what tune you running? flash, jb4? Do you use remote US tuners or local? Are you still running pure s2 turbos? I'm having a few issues with the Hexons (smoking, blown seals) so looking at a few options right now.

Anyhow hopefully bump into you sometime

cheers

p.s. nice work with the hsv

Btw the jb4 Bms Pi controller is a good thing now as I had Terry confirm that if there is a misfire and DI fuel cuts off then the jb4 will also cut the PI supply.

For those who are interested...

Hey Sock - As steve said below JD is looking after me so will be getting some NOZ replacement turbos. JD will basically credit whatever I paid for the Hexon 700s towards the NOZ stage 2.5 turbos, which are inline with the 700s spec wise, but around $2K dearer being ball bearing. I will get 12 months premium warranty with it too so am happy with that. I wish I could afford the stage 3 turbos but bit out of budget for me right now

Yeh PI safety is something I'm always looking to improve. Personally I like the MHD flash only setup however if I can integrate Jb4 just for the purpose of additional PI safety and run a MHD BEF without compromising smoothness and power delivery may consider it. I'll do a bit more research

May have to compromise a bit in the smoothness but it definitely is the lesser of the two evils... at these power levels too.

Yeh have been doing a bit of reading about JB4 "PI safety" and its still not a full proof solution for people running PI. There is no individual injector control and only has the ability to shut-off PI buy monitoring things like throttle position, gear etc. In a WOT situation if there is DI shutdown by the DME, PI will continue flow (until you let off the peddle) but all this will be happenning in milliseconds so the JB4 solution will not be able to respond in time. It all comes down to the auxiliary controller having no communication with the DME

Hey mate - nah 11.12 is the best I have so far. Haven't been to the track in 6 months sorting out a few bugs with fueling and turbo etc. Hopefully when sorted will head back again towards the end of the year.

Bigger news is Socks gone single borg warner EFR 7670

I don't have time to go back through 7 pages of posts.......can someone give me a recap on rear suspension mods he's doing to get his 335i to hook up at the drag strip? I'm shooting for better 60ft times....and my car won't hook up at all...but it's got 100k miles on the suspension.....looking to freshen everything up with parts that will make it hook!!

Thanks!!!!!

Hey mate. My suspension was dead stock m sport springs and shocks. I had mfactory LSD installed that's it. Wind up to ~3000 rpm and I was off. I had a built trans from Nizpro. The first page has a summary of all the mods on the car to pull the times I did

Hey guys. hope you are well. I haven't bought anything as yet. When I sold my car, I also sold my my other family car Holden Captiva and replaced it with a 2015 F15 X5 40d M-sport. Funnily enough I couldn't keep it stock so had it tuned by Jin over at Eastern BM and picked another +50kw and +100nm to make 225awkw and 700nm. Not bad for a diesel, a lot of low down, have time 0-100kmh run in sub 5sec haha. Then was onto visual enhancements did carbon diffusers all round, X5M mirrors, gloss black grill and badges and installed some rear touch screen entertainment system for the kids. That's it for now on the X5.

When things get back to normal do want to get maybe an M2 or rs3 for thrills. Some pics below

cheers

A good practical set of wheels. However, it probably doesn't handle as well as the 335 did.
