I'm tempted to get back into this.
Reading through the parts list, because I'm already CIC and I have front and rear cameras. I should just need - $1764 Retrofit Kit - $124 iDrive Touch Controller - $50 postage - $1938 AUD right? What's the go with installation? Is everyone DIYing themselves? |

Also, you'll easily be able to sell your CIC for 800-1000 bucks for someone who wants CIC into CCC |

So the iDrive ECU is the controller itself, as in the the thing in the Center trim? Are you buying NBT controllers or CIC controllers? How's that work? |

I have some good news and semi bad news.
The good news is that I have negotiated the discount which will be 10% off if EB89 jumps on board and 7% if he doesn't instead of the original 5%. Doesn't sound like much, but a 5% difference is nearly $100. The discount will also apply for the iDrive touch controller. The bad news is that the shipping will be 65 euro, which is about $100. The head units will be shipped out individually instead of all at once. This is more expensive than shipping them together, but the seller has advised against shipping 2-3 units in one unit as to not raise the suspicions of Australian Customs and thus avoiding paying any import duty and taxes. He will also write a low value down so even if we pay GST, it won't be much. So the revised prices are as follows: eNBT retrofit kit 1,200 euro -7% = 1,116 euro = $1,725.83 -10% = 1,080 euro = $1,670.16 touch iDrive controller ECU = 80 euro -7% = 74.40 euro = $115.06 -10% = 72 euro = $111.35 Shipping 65 euro = $100.52 AU Total price of kit landed to your door with iDrive touch controller ECU with 7% off = $1,941.41 with 10% off = $1,822.03 |

Also guys, please give me your VIN. I need this for coding the unit and also so the seller can confirm which fascia and faceplates we require and also get us a price for these items that we need.
EB, you could also just use your existing CIC controller so you wouldn't need to buy the iDrive touch controller. I do think the touch would be a cool useful feature to write the alphabet out, but not a huge necessity. I would suggest you don't get it as you will also need to trim your carbon fibre skinned centre console. I have also asked if there will be a discount for those who do not need the iDrive touch controller (Socket and EB89) |

More good news for you Elliot (and Socket). If you drop the iDrive touch controller from the order, your kit will only be 1,100 euro.
Elliot, for you that means a grand total of less than $1650 all up. |

The touch controler I still want, I'm having trim prices made locally and will get them to make the right sized hole for this shape, then can sell my CIC trim and controller together. |

Is the screen plug and play? Goes into the existing slot?

No its not plug n play. You'd need to remove the LCD from the screen unit and cut the plastic behind the LCD mount to get the F30 screen to fit. Better off buying an old CCC screen to cut up so you don't hack into your CIC one.

Are there any images for the F30 LCD in a CCC or CIC shroud? How much bigger is it, there isn't much room on the edge or top corners to go bigger.

The 8.8" LCD frame is the same size as the NBT screen so its a perfect match.
The NBT screen just doesn't mount to the plastics properly as there are some support structures that need to be cut out for the LCD to fit.

You'll need to buy the entire screen assembly, they don't sell just the plastics by itself. Plenty of them for ebay for under $200. Might be able to get a bargain if you buy it off someone locally who upgraded to CIC.
