I've always wanted to go up to Whistler in the summer - but how do you haul a 50lb bike and your body armor and gear there? or Do you just use their rental rigs? I've heard that their park is hands down the best mountain EVER.. I usually ride a local place called "Lynn Woods" which is 20 min away from where I live, but otherwise, if I am looking for lift access: Plattekill, Diablo, Highland (
), Attitash.. I'll have to dig up some old action shots..

First off, beautiful bike. The V-10 is a dream to ride, but for most of where i do my riding, it is just too much for me. I have a big hit dh that is adjustable from about 4-7 inches. Although its still a hog (weighs about 45 lbs) i use it to cc from time to time and a few years back i would do some amateur DH races. Onto Whistler, I packed my bike up, basically disassembled it and packed it into a bike carrier. It was basically an over sized suitcase. Then payed about $50 each way to have it shipped on the plane i was on. If i had to do it again, i would just rent there. It was hell trying to pack it into our Ford Explorer we rented. And ended up tieing the 2 bike suitcases onto the roof. Next, the abuse my bike took was not worth it. I went through 3 wheels and multiple other components including blowing my rear shock on the last day (luckily). FYI I love Santa Cruz's. I used to own a Bullit and still own a chameleon.

How do you drive in the snow with high performance tires on 18" 162's? That is a cool setup.

The stock 'performance RFT' tires that came on my 162s have been replaced with Continental "Contiextremecontact" tires - which I consider a very aggressive all season tire tread pattern.

I still snowboard But my sixty eight Burton Canyon goes inside. And this is a kitchen door compared to others, but i love powder and am 6.4. On the roof it just causes noise and ruins fuel economy. I take the binders off and don't even need to fold one of the rear seats down - which woud results in more noise too. I slide it underneath the passengers seat and have removed the rear head rests, it fits ok.
On the Frenck tollways down to the Alps I cruise at 110 mph, don't want to have anything annoying on the roof..
