I think USPS lost my CA key. Good news is that I found a key with Amazon prime shipping that will be here tomorrow.

I programmed a full working CA fob. Now I have two CA fobs, one non CA fob and my wallet key. I am almost $1,000 into this, Hopefully I can sell the BMW multi tool and get back most of my money.
![]() This is the end of the experiment. I still have three non CA key boards and 1 CA key board if anyone needs a key repaired. Last edited by Nickco43; 08-02-2018 at 11:54 AM.. |

You might want to consider programming a couple of these, while you still have the multi-tool.
These are plastic, transponder only keys, that will unlock the drivers side door, and start the car with a holder. They are cheap, ~$10 per key, and ~$15 for a holder. Every car I own, I always like to hide an emergency key. That way, if I ever lose my keys, which I'm somewhat prone to do, I can get into, and drive away, my car. I have one of these, in a magnetic holder, hidden under my car, and a holder in the glove box. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Emergen....c100005.m1851

The aftermarket CA kob stopped unlocking and locking the doors with CA. I am going to solder the chip onto my used OEM CA key.

My China CA fob will fully work but after two uses of the CA door handle it will stop working. The car will start the car even out the the ignition slot but it will not open the doors. The amazon CA fob is just a dud since it will only start the car.

I texted G coding and he is going to cut three metal keys for my car with the code. I am giving CA another shot with a virgin OEM remote. I bought a pair of no CA fobs off amazon and they are garbage. Anyone who is making a new key should use the KYDZ made keys.

For those of us playing along at home can you summarise what we need and what we need to do to program a key?

I am just north of Philadelphia. I sold my BMW multi tool last week so I can only do board swaps now.

Nick - I need to replace a battery in one of my non-CA keys. Based on how the battery is positioned in the KYDZ, would it work to just buy a new raw key and use that battery? I haven't been able to find another link to a battery for less than $20 anyway (DIY linked below), so I'm hoping this is the easiest solution. Thanks!
