I have tried HC (80 min) CD-R and they worked well. One thing you might want to consider is your writer instead of the media itself. Not all writers will write effectively and identically all medias. use a CD-R that does not work and burn it using another burner (if you have access to one of course) and see if it behaves differently. All CD-R and CD_RW I've tried all worked flawlessly.

It isn't the brand of CD-R you have so much as the CDR/Writer combo. There was a great site out there about that. I'll see if I can find it again.

But, for instance, in my Plextor DVD writer (also burns CD-Rs), I can use any media cause the Plextor is one of the best (if not the best) DVD Writer.

-Use Good BrandName blank CDs (Sony, Verbatim, Memorax...etc)
-make sure you close all other programs when burning music
-always burn your music with a Slow speed (4X, 8X )
-and try to keep cell phones away (Not sure about this one)
hope this helps...

Memorex is the brand which I (and everyone I know) have had the most issues with.

You know what pisses me off? My car has played every CD I've put in, but almost all the time, it won't read it. For example, I've put in actual non-burned CD's and it's worked. I've put in CD-RW's and it's worked. I've put in about 2-3 different types of CD-R's and it's worked. But somedays, none will work. It won't read any. Then all of a sudden, it'll read one, but not others. Why is that?
