Does anybody have any luck pairing an unlocked treo 650 with a non idrive 330i. witout any problem making and answering phone calls?
I'm thinking about getting a treo since my current phone can pair but it gets cut off when i answer a call.

Yes. Pairing was no problem. Mine is through Verizon which is not compatible w/BMW. It's over Bluetooth. There's a class action suit in LA. Verizon may have to issue software to make it compatible with other Bluetooth applications, like my car. Consequently, voice command by name (e.g., call "office", or call "home") is not recognized, even though the number have been downloaded upon pairing.

The numbers you enter in speed dial are automatically downloaded in to the car phone book. In my case I can scroll through the book on the audio display to access numbers, but it's not hands free.

The system works great otherwise. If you know the number just say dial, and it prompts you for the number. If your carrier is compatible with BMW, like Cingular, the hands free feature will work great.

When I joined I was driving the 740iL. Now I'm in the 330i. Also in San Diego with Monaco Blue. What a hassle getting dealer installed accessories. Long story and still on-going. Rear spoiler, 6 CD changer - man you'd think I was the first to order this stuff and I think I was.

Thanks for the info. Which dealer did you go to? Do they sell rear spoiler? are you planning to get some new wheels for ure car?

I know this is not exactly what you asked for because my car has iDrive, but just for your information, I use my unlocked GSM Treo 650 with my E90 with no problems. Voice dialing also works. My Treo has the latest software update.
