Loud ringing & other issues
Hey all, hoping I can get some input on a few issues I've got. The first one is this: I just installed a Burger intake on my car about 1-2 weeks ago, and I've noticed now that when I'm WOT I hear this high pitched ringing that almost sounds digital in tone. Anyone got any ideas about this?
Other issues... I lowered my car on KW's and put some 19" VMR's on it, and I believe I've only ended up wreaking havoc on the rear suspension. My mechanic already replaced a worn out upper shock mount, but I'm still getting squeaking and rattling in the rear. He said he looked over my bushings, control arms, etc, and from what he can tell my suspension looks fine. What could it be? Possibly related to this, when I go to take sharp turns, it's as if the rear end can't get any grip and it starts skipping or something. Furthermore...taking any kind of turn at all seems to cause an audible buzzing. If I take a really hard turn (like a u-turn) the car just cannot accelerate at all and starts skipping and cutting power. Idle does not sound so great. What it sounds like is the RPMs are rising and falling, except when you look at the tach, the needle is still. ??? Finally, sometimes under braking I can also hear a buzzing. If I hit the brakes hard at a slow speed, I get a really loud clunk and it feels terrible. I've read this is possibly related to aftermarket brake pads, which may not fit quite correctly after they've been worn down for a few thousand miles. This is probably too many topics of conversation for a single post, but man this car is making me rip my hair out at this point. Most recent MHD scan: View post on imgur.com

The idle and high-pitched sound could be boost-leak related. I would visually check all of your turbo plumbing just to make sure there isn't any obvious leaks. If you can't find anything, do a smoke test. When I had a small CP leak, it would make a high pitched sound like you described on under boost. I would also get a weird idle fluctuation as well until I fixed the leak.

High pitched ringing could be "pinging" or knock.. engine knock. monitor your corrections. And not having a oil pressure sensor reading is not good..

Possibly the boost solenoid. Saw a video about it a while ago, seems like what you're describing.
Also, when you lowered your car did you replace the rear shocks?
