Dig vs roll racing.

Hey guys simple question. And, yes these are more so hyphotheticals. XI and X drive cars have superior launching ability and can take off from a jump faster than our rwd brethern. But, what about from a roll on race? Do we stand a chance?

I've dragged a few of my friends rwd 335s/135s at the track and I'm always ahead but can see they will eventually reel me in with similar mods or less. They tend to have higher traps even with similar ets. So, with the parasitic loss, weight, awd, etc... do our cars stand a chance?

no not from a roll. They only way you will beat a rwd from a roll is if you are making a ton more power than the rwd car is making.

We are about -40hp vs the rwd. -20lbs for the extra 200lbs in weight and about -20 more for the awd loss.

Just one of the things for the assurance of awd in rain and snow and not spinning if you slam it under 30mph.

Just think, if any big turbos get developed for the xi we will be much better off then the rwd cars if the parts can take it.

Garage List
I don't think we are slower in the real world. I run a 1.7 60 foot every single time in my xdrive automatic coupe. Its easy to brake boost launch and it is consistent as hell. The only real world racing I might do is 0-60 at a light and mod for mod AWD has an advantage unless the other guy has an amazing ability to drive. I ran 116mph on pump gas in the quarter mile on cobb stage 2+ which seems right in line with the non AWD 335i. Starting a race on the highway going 60 they will beat you but only immature kids and douche bags start racing on public roads at 60mph. I hit 120 mph real quick and losing my license or dying in a fiery inferno are not on my to do list.

Thanks for the replies guys. I definitely can get a 1.6 to 1.7 easy on my run flats each time at the track and trap at anywhere between 109 to 112 with anywhere 12.2 to 12.5.. My friends in their 335is, IS-F tend to destroy me when we're just messing around with rolls from like 60 to 80 or so.. I'm thinking of running meth on top of e85... just to get a bit more power out of it.
