E91 LCI CIC idrive rebooting

HI, just picked up a nice LCI touring whih was all fine when i drove it home yesterday.

This morning the idrive is constantly restarting and cycling the BMW splash screen. It doesn't power up and i can hear a HDD accessing sound every reboot.

Pop the hdd out and see if it stops rebooting.

if it does the hdd is corrupted.

Rebooting problems are either hardware or firmware faults.

Sometimes a reflash can fix it. (sometimes not!!).

I have a couple of spare e9x cic units that work perfectly, they are running latest firmware and 2020 maps.

Try the hdd first and if that does not work, PM me and I can sort a replacement unit for you (if you want).

Whats the timing between the reboots??

Yes, it just effects the Navigation and stored sounds.
