Any new solutions to the coins in the underseat vent problem?

There are a couple old threads on this (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14362), that haven't really helped me to resolve this. Anyone found any other solutions to this problem? It's driving me crazy - every time I accel, brake or corner, I can hear the coins sliding around.

Dealer said that they won't do the work under warranty and I am hearing it's about a $300 job.

I have the same issue, took me forever to figure it out. it was driving me nuts!!!

No solution for preventing it, but I'll be trying to fish them out with a coat hanger...

How about one of those mechanics tools that is a flexable shaft with a workable claw on one end and activator on the other?

I just did a jackrabbit start and a really gentle stop, then grabbed the coins from the end of the vent with my fingers. No fishing required.

Thanks for the idea - I get some object sliding sounds during hard braking and cornering and didn't know about these vents. Just found them tonight after reading this thread. Found nothing in the vents just now, but will try after some hard accelerations or up-hill drives.

Always sounds like something in the driver's side door or right behind my seat, though neither made sense for the sliding sound when cornering, as there's not so much slipping room in these places to make noise for a whole 1 or 2 seconds. This vent is a likely candidate.

It actually sounds just like rocks kicking up when driving through Angeles' Crest (a sometimes dirty road). Does that describe the sound for the rest of you? I sometimes think some of these rocks make it up into a nook or cranny and were staying around there for good.
