E92/E93 Custom 3/4 DTM Headlights CF Eyelids, Black Out

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:

Item Interest
Hey guys and gals, just completed a set of headlights. Here are the details of the build:
Pearl Black Xenon and adaptive shrouds(Yes these lights are ADAPTIVE)
Satin Black Lens trim
Blacked out corner light housing
3/4 DTM Led rings
BavGruppe CF eyelid(black vinyl wrap on the back to prevent light leaking through)
Brand new OEM AL lenses
Blacked out Xenon lens trim(The metal that surrounds the xenon lens. Most builders leave this unfinished matte silver, but on a blacked out headlight it is ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb)
Wired into OE H8 wiring harness for OEM plug and play compatibility, simply plug this housing into your factory body harness.
5 silica gels per housing to further prevent moisture entering housing
Morimoto Butyl glue seal

Crunched the numbers, and based on not having had an extra set of housings, and having had to take to ebay my cost for these will be firm at $1400. If you feel like offering less I encourage you to source all these parts and do the job yourself, and see if it doesnt cost you close to this, and eat up at least 10 hours of your time.

As always I prefer local Bay Area peeps pick up, and I never have a problem helping with install. I will ship if no locals step up in the next couple weeks, and the cost will depend on your proximity to me in Norcal.

Looks great! Curious, though, as to why you chose to use vinyl on the back of the eyelids vs. spraying them?

A couple reasons; one is the potential for overspray to get on the carbon fiber finish, and also that rattle can paint, even supposed primers from the auto parts store, are not good at filling holes.

Based on those reasons it made sense for me to just spend 15 minutes per side applying the vinyl and carefully using exacto knife to remove excess vinyl.

Ah okay. Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking long term and how the vinyl would hold up over the years with the heat.

Given the distance from the xenon projector and bulb I would say heat will likely not be an issue.

Pre lci yes, and I got ahold of some perfectly sized boxes, so shipping is on the table. Luckily shipping from CA to TX should not be too bad.
