need help on 2009 e90 halogen angel eyes headlamp!!
Well, long story short, I'm trying to change the bulb on the angel eyes for my 09 e90. the thing is that no one know what bulb it is? I have search hours online for it and drove miles around the county to see but no one know?!
below are some pics of how it looks. What I have been told is that the bulb inside looks to be like a 194 but the thing is that the grey piece below does not come off in order to have the bulbs changes?! ahhh this is driving me crazy! has anyone done this before or im just crazy for trying this? I have seen the racing dash led bulbs for the 08 e90 but that would not work with my car since the back connectors are different. anyhow any help is much appreciated. Thanks! |

i'm not 100% sure, but it looks VERY similar to the pre-lci angel eye bulb. I would say go ahead and try LUX 5.0 on these!!!!

Marc,
I wouldn't mind try your Lux5, how much and if it doesn't work can you refund it please? but like he said, how the hell do you remove the "grey piece"? it has to come off in order to have the bulbs change any idea? thanks

Marc,
Anyone in your area bought a set of LCI halogen headlights you can check out? is LUX5 the same voltage or wattage? I mean will it throw an error?

Marc,
sounds like I might have to bite the bullet and try it. if this turn out, you are going to be a HERO. people with LCI halo will highly consider your product.

I agree. is there a pic of these infamous LUX 5.0? if the bulb has to be changed and keep the same housing then forget about it, that grey peice is not coming off with out breaking it. Also the connectors are unique. |

what a bad design from BMW
why can't they make both LCI xenon and halo's angel eye bulbs the same. if I can't find a solution, the only way is to sell my brand new LCI halo set I can't drive with those ugly yellow angel eye bulb

I was just taking a look at the Lux 5.0 instructions and its no where near close of what would need to be done to get those on the new headlmaps. I really dont think those would work...

Some guy from the shop that I went to told me to try putting a clear blueish film on top of the out side plastic of the bulb set. this might shine a blue light to the rings....

Below is a pic of them actually installed, original pics that I first posted shows the front side and back
the back of the OEM (not the same connector as to the racing dash LEDs) These bubls are actually scrwed to the housing. they have simple access to them and removal and installation is simple as well. (atleast for the passenger side, I havent tried the drive side yet). I was told that the 194 bulb looks to be the bulb inside so I bought a pair but I just cant get that piece to come apart since it looks like its heated sealed. |

We did a RD (Racing Dash) retrofit on my LCI Halogen lights ...
All you have to do is cut the wire and crimp on some female end to them and then use a self-tap screw to hold down the LEDs ... Let me know if you guys need a full detail DIY on this. Here is how mine turned out (pics with headlights off): |

No I didn't get a chance to take a pic of the wires or the lights with the headlights on.... Yes my car came with halogens and those are JDM yellow M-tech fogs. It's really not that bad if your willing to cut a few wires. Last edited by 808E90; 04-30-2009 at 12:11 PM.. |

I know this might look/sound ghetto but I came up with an idea. I cut a piece of small plastic and colored it blue with a sharpie and put it in between the factory bulb and got these light on puer daylight: I know they dont look all that bright but they might at night, I'll check tonight to see. The only donw fall is that of course the plastic melts after a bit so i'm looking to see how i can get some type of blue glass.. lol anyhow this was just an idea that came up and i wannted to give it a try... |
