Carly Bluetoogh/AUX Retrofit

I was just notified of this new product through their newsletter.

http://www.ivini-tech.de/adapter/nac...6e53-208805609

Essentially for folks with CIC and Aux input but no USB, can use this to add bluetooth audio streaming and maintain the aux input.

Also, if anyone has installed these can report back with details on the process, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, their English site does not have the link for the product yet.

If you open the link in Google Chrome, it will allow you translate it to whichever language you prefer.

Hard to tell what this connects to? Is it a fitting in the center console or directly to the head unit? Has anyone seen more info on this interesting piece?

Doing a little looking around... this fitting looks like it might connect to the CD changer input. Does that look correct?

Kit is around $50

Hopefully this doesn't have a built in DAC rather using the Digital conversion from the car to make good sound. This solution maybe a cleaner install than most.

I lost a lot of space using the AUX input for the Audioengine B1 inside the center console. Kind of don't want things like that out in the open in the car

Also it says cars with AUX & WITH or WITHOUT USB is supported

So it sounds like just another A2DP adapter that works through the aux
I see no most connection.

I wonder since it uses the CD connection, if entertainment details would be displayed?

I have reached out to them as well asking for more information. Specifically requested a video depicting if it works through iDrive. I wanted to know if it would allow bluetooth music control and display track ID.

Haven't heard back from them yet, will update the thread once I know more.

me too... they are going to be wondering what is all this attention for this one product from North America all of a sudden! Oh well let's see what they say. I don't see it on their English/US websites - maybe not available here. We'll see.

"Hello,

sorry wheel control isn´t possible.

It´s only possible with the Phone/Ipod/Mp3 player etc.

You make playlists in the Player, if you find it is better.

Pls find some info as follows:

Protect PowerC16.5V+/-1.0V

Bluetooth version: 3.0

Supporting Bluetooth protocol:HFPV1.5, A2DPV1.2, A VRCPV1.4, HSP1.2, GA VDP1.2,IOP Current:<60mA

transfering power: CLASS2.4dbm

Thanks for the update RVS, they never got back to me at all.

So from what I understand, is this similar to most bluetooth receivers that route sound through the Aux input?

I don't quite understand how this is a retrofit if it won't let you control music through the system, will it at least display music info on the Idrive?

More confused now than before with their reply

I am guessing but the reason it would be a "retrofit" is because it seems to be hardwired and hidden rather than using the 12v and AUX plugs like most bluetooth receivers.

"Hello,

we use the cables from the Aux port to get the signal into the radio.

But the AUX Connector functionality is still available.

Greetings

so it would seem from an audio quality standpoint it would be the same as plugging a 3.5mm aux cable into the aux in the center console.... ok no thank you.

It's a great option for some though. And inexpensive.

Already many devices like this . And I guess it doesn't
have aptx. We know the aux doesn't produce good fidelity,
with most devices if any.

That's why I made the Bluetooth thread. Audioengine surpasses most devices with all support of codecs and a nice DAC for aux output
