FYI FOR PLANNING. DEALERSHIP WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HOST ON 21 MAY 2006 AT THEIR FACILITIES, PLS PLAN PARKS BBQ or DINING CONTINGENCIES
EDIT: after the group were having difficulty finding a place to meet, Passport called me and offered to come in Sunday to house the Meet at the dealership, even though it was closed. I passed that info and the group was re-energized.

Ok we need to roll up our sleeves on this...
I know this has been mentioned but what about this... Ok on the 1st meet point in Tysons... From then on, how do you guys feel about convoy-ing to Summit Point WV. Its a nice drive, all the much better if the weather cooperates...this will give us some time/space to stretch our cars' legs and get away from the city for a while. At Summit Point we can join up with BMW CCA's BMW Corral in conjunction with the annual Jefferson 500. Been there once, last year to attend a Jaguar ride and drive event and had a great time looking at cars. All sorts of meets goes on...see lots of Ferraris, Lamborghinis etc. Club members get more benefits such as private parking and discounted entry fee ($20 at the gate / $15 for members) but I believe there is ample space to hold a tailgate picnic for everyone... A plus point, the atmosphere make for great pics

I'm game for meeting at Tyson's and then driving off to somewhere. FWIW, how about leaving the Galleria take 123N towards Mclean to the GW Parkway and off to one of the parks along the Potomac near Reagan National. Not alot of fluff/fan fare/dog and pony show, just a place to chill out shoot the bull. That said, I'm unsure if those areas have grills and picnic tables. Cheers.

http://www.nccbmwcca.org/index.php?id=97,420,0,0,1,0 Since we (NCC) will be running a driving school on Sunday on the Shenandoah, we will be asking everyone to allow driving school participants to get their lunch between 11 and noon so they can get back to the track. Please use the form no later than Monday 11:00 pm. I do not want to run out of food.

1996_328ti: Thank you for the suggestion, I did check out the RSVP request/procedure on the site but will wait to see how our e90post.com meet will develop. We have been planning for this meet for some time so they get my first priority...
Ok for picnic/bbq area I will strongly suggest haines point in DC then... I had suggested this place for the initial cherry blossom idea...

I hope we can agree on a location soon, so we can do the PM Blitz to the master list, also have noted some more local area members which are not on the list...

Ahh thought you might ask, I got the material down pat...going with glossy paper and double laminate, my vendor is seeing what he can do to eat the cost...
Do we still keep the Passport BMW on there?

Poldim: The times that I go there its not too busy, will scope it out tomorrow at 11:00 to see...tourist season is upon us. Will also take recon pics for you guys...
I guess if we are still getting goodie bags, we'll keep their name on the tag...who knows (and depending on the numbers) might lead the way to bigger things wrt their involvement in future events

Haines point works for me. Should we go via direct or rally at Tyson's beforehand? Let me know, I'm rigidly flexible. -Slug

g'morning slugdriver...gonna do recon this morning with pics to inventory facilities i.e. picnic area, ample space etc
Who's gonna be up and about in the area this morning? I think out of tradition, the first rendezvous point at Tysons should be ok...but really up to the majority, I am 'rigidly flexible' as well...

Ok I did a short recon...
Place: West Potomac Park, Hains Point -I did not see much traffic/crowd today at about 14:00 (could only swing by after lunch, got to feed the wife ) -Free entry fee -Found a perfect side lot (lot 11) that can accomodate about 25 cars -There are picnic tables but no bbq pit -Location is picturesque and easily accessible -Alcoholic beverages are prohibited Cruising Speed only in the park Lot 11 seems to be the best choice to park and take pics My humble e90 at the proposed lot Picnic areas The 'Awakening' sculpture Things to figure out: -F & B logistics -Space reservation
