Surging Idle

Hello

I have a ST N54 that has been running good for many years, just been doing regular maintenance. Recently, my idle has been rough which goes away when I drive but now it’s real bad. Car starts up fine and after a minute or so the idle jumps up then drops. It feels like the car is about to die but saves itself and the rpn shoots up. It goes up and down. I smell a lil bit of Gas too. I do have real old index 9 injectors for 5+ years. I changed the plugs, cleaned vanos solenoids, valve cover and gasket, Walnut blast like 30k miles ago. I checked my vacuum lines. I’m leaning towards injectors but looking for some advice. What’s causing my rpms to surge and almost die. I’ll try to attach a video of my idle, any help will be appreciated.

When you changed the spark plugs were they wet with fuel or oil? or black with soot?

I believe both fuel and oil. I changed the valve cover/gasket because there was a pool of oil in the spark plug holes. Seemed oil was leaking from the PCV crankcase vent hose and pooling into the spark plug/fuel injector holes.
