If you want some of the functions that the TCU had and the entire TCU or Mulf or
combox is bad and you want to stay factory you need to source a new one
and program it.
OK, got that thanks!

The current TCU is good, and we want to keep all of its current functions except SOS... How would we set about programming it to remove SOS?

Thanks for your help!

It's either -TELD or +TELD at least that is what people used to advise.
Weather it works accross every type of module that comes in the entire
range of years in the car I couldn't tell you . -TELD would make more sense
to me. You may need a ICOM to program it for the cars past 3/07.
Add to VO and then default program the modules likely to have SOS like
Kombi , Head Unit and whatever you have for a COM module (TCU , Combox or
Mulf ) Also if you have another defective module on the Most Bus that can cause
and SOS error.

+TELD as indicated in entry 3 and the few that follow.

Yeah, we tried +TELD and default code all modules using protool (my install of ncsexpert was playing dead at the time), and it didn't work. I don't have an ICOM though, so maybe that's the key. Car is 2010...? It's LCI, anyhow.

I would talk to Bimmergeeks about that . If its a supported option it should work.
Also what year and car do you have? Sos in Europe may be different than in the
United States where it ran off a 2g network that is no longer supported.
It's likely you have a combox in 2010 and I wouldn't have an idea what the lines
are for SOS in a British Car . You need to see if you can identify and read the
module and maybe try the the UK sub forum.

This guy may know and he is in the UK

He uses NCSDummy to read the options then saves it as a man file.
This guy has a lot of great video's
The rewrites it.
Looks like he can do a remote coding if you like.

I've tried contacting the guy in the video but he hasn't responded to my email or the comments I've put in a couple of his videos.
It was that video Tam and I were watching to try and figure out how to do it but NCS expert would not work on Tams computer for some reason.

What's the vin? I've had rare instances that required more VO coding to remove SOS warning depending on your current vehicle order. Try -TELD though, +TELD has not always worked on my customer cars

Always better to get Inpa working to make sure your interface is working
correctly before preceding to any type of coding or programming.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the deal was (not very good at German error messages), but it was just an issue with NCS; inpa was fine. All sorted now though.

+TELD was accepted by the VO, and protool offered to default the 3 relevant modules. It just didn't solve the issue. I don't feel like it was an issue with protool; more just that this car needs more than that somehow.

Thanks for the help, all

Are you able to read the individual files for the relevant modules?
CIC , combox, kombi?

Looks like we might be getting somewhere 🤞.
No doubt there will be a few more suggestions of things to try. So I recon, if/when some more ideas come along, we can then arrange to have another crack at it of you like. Would rather wait until we've got a few things to try before travelling up again, unless ofcourse if someone can say 100% that the above solution will work.
