What is this wire?

Hi, I was removing back seats on my E92 and found this wire:

It writes "... Double twisted RCA Cable LEIPZIG by ...".

Is this audio cable? Is this original part? I wonder why its so loose and not nicely installed. I have base audio in my E92. I was thinking to replace base audio system myself but since I found this cable I wonder maybe I have upgrade installed by previous owner or at least pre-wiring for some kind of system?

What kind of audio setup would have been there? These RCA would come from radio to trunk for sub-woofer?

I don't see any AMP and sub-woofer in the trunk so it was most probably removed. Also I don't see any fuse or non OEM wires near car battery to power AMP. So I guess just RCA cable left.

No way to tell what was in there. Most likely a subwoofer and amp in the trunk which would've been easy to remove and pull the power wiring since the battery is back there. RCAs would've required a little more work so they didn't bother.

Find out what the original sound system was in your car
The sound system is not the Head Unit type.

Run this vin checker on your car.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...pytm6ui2dWc1zK

676 = Hi Fi
677 = top hi fi = Logic 7
non of the above base system with no amp.

If they are RCA's from head unit they could be used to hook up any type of amp
if there are 4 of tem . If there are two likely somebody had a sub woofer.
You need to back trace to the source after determining the sound system.
