There is a video on YouTube on how to calibrate the injectors with the Schwaben/ Foxwell scan tool. |

I think mixing is fine. I used index 6 or 7 as a spare (all others index 12), as long as you code it, but I don't think I bothered with that as it was for few days. This was discussed multiple times, you can follow BMW guidelines, but that is same as oil change intervals, up to you.

All is installed.... Couple feedback items for anyone going to swap these out in the future:
1. it took a while for the fuel rail to release pressure and sprayed a decent amount of fuel out. Next time ill let car sit for a while before removing fuel lines. 2. My injectors popped out pretty easy by hand, cly 6 was a pain due to limited space to get hands down there. 3. Coding was a breeze with the Schwaben tool, no issues at all. I did notice that the DME sometimes adjusts the values by +/- 1 4. I took for a drive and its smooth as butter, no issues and my cyl 5 misfire is gone! Here a couple pics of two of my old ones and pics of the new VDO model. |

So not sure if this is related but this morning as soon as I started car engine limp mode malfunction.
2AA3 camshaft sensor, exhaust, gap loss & 3100 Boost Pressure control deactivation. I turned off car , cleared codes and so far it hasn’t reappeared. Any ideas? |

The exhaust & intake cam sensors are in the same area as the Vanos. Fairly easy DIY. Sort of expensive for two, small sensors though. Idk. I have 152,000 plus on my original sensors (knock on wood), but I am on my second set of Vanos Solenoids. I had to replace them at around 110k. I don't think your code is related to new injectors. Check your vacuum lines and make sure they are all secure. On a side note, have you ever replaced the vac lines? If not, I would do that proactively. Get about 20 feet. https://www.verociousmotorsports.com...cuum-Hose-Kits |

I have 132k miles and those sensors and VANOS are all originals from what I can tell.
Might as well replace both sensors while I’m there. What is the process to clean the Vanso sensors? I was happy engine was running great last night then woke up to this crap 😡 |

Take both out. Use brake cleaner on both. Use a compressed air gun to dry them. Install them in the opposite holes you took them out. Make sure you have the O-rings accounted for when you take them out. They like to stay in the holes. You might want new O-rings..... https://www.ecstuning.com/b-holstein...iABEgIb6PD_BwE VDO is the oem provider with this sensor. However... |

You can clean the Vanos. I do think the Vanos & cam sensors can be related, which is why I suggested to clean the Vanos. |

One concern while down there is the wires for both vanos had both of the protective plastic around the wires very brittle and falling apart leaving the wires exposed. I wonder how that extreme heat in that location to going to be for those wires. |

Vanos are all cleaned, I can notice it did help clean up the idle and acceleration, however car keeps throwing the 2AA3 and 2AA1 codes and goes into limp mode and stalled twice on way to work.
I ordered two camshaft sensors from RMEuropean to do the trick! |

If you have original Vanos, I'd stash $200.00 aside. If I'm a betting man, I'd bet sometime in the next year, they will go. It's always a wise decision to do an oil flush before you change the oil. This keeps the engine clean inside and helps protect items like Vanos Solenoids from getting gummed up. |

Yea my codes are directly tied to the sensors and not the vanos. My vanos when I pulled them out were actually really clean no gunk etc.
My crankshaft sensor went out a couple months back so these are next in line. 🤨. The weird part is that they coincendentally acted up the day after changing injectors. 🤔 |

I agree. My n54 has not been this smooth ever. I think it does help that I have the entire intake (CAI box, inlets, outlets, & FMIC) upgraded & new engine & trans mounts. Regardless, the acceleration is silky smooth and really, really fast. No question that the index 12 injectors are brand new and legit. BAP would be crazy not to grab as many sets of these as they could and advertise on this forum.
