I did read the thread my son . But if i recall they said they recommend cleaning the dp's monthly with steel wool or something? To me that should not be required if it were true T304, when was the last time you climbed under your car to scrub your exhaust off? LOL let alone monthly. Either way, i will probably try these out

I got ya. You just mentioned eBay so I thought you missed the part where I contacted Raceland. By the way, they just explained the steel wool was to maintain the luster and had nothing to do with surface rust or anything of that nature.

the excitement in this thread is funny (i'm excited as well). However, i'm surprised all the requests for updates on the durability from the OP. Unless these these things were made of coke can aluminum, they are still going to be working as they did 3 months ago.

I have had absolutely no issues since installing them. Honestly, I don't even think about them since dialing in the DP fix.

Thought I would bump this up since I'm probably one of the first "2nd hand" users of these DP's. Bought them off another member and just finished installing them. Quality looks "good". Not great but not bad. Fitment was absolutely perfect. Got these and a used V3 BMS DP Fix for 180 shipped.

Ive been running JB3 on map 5 with 93oct and an Injen DCI and after adding these and bumping it up to map 7 all I can say is HOLY FRICKEN SHIT! This car just came alive and is a fricken beast now!

Some of the best money I've spent modifying cars.

Yeah, figured as much. Wish Raceland would get another batch in and sell these thing!

I've installed a couple sets and can say they are actually better fitment than some higher dollar pipes. Not sure about longevity.

Don't read too much into that as I don't think they would flow as much or last as long.

http://www.racelandus.com/

I contacted a month ago and they said the new batch should be done sometime this month. Contact them and ask for yourself. They are no longer listed on their site.

As for longevity, I live up in MN so I will let you know how they look after a nasty Minnesota winter

Longevity doesn't matter...just get them coated...no problems. $90 investment, and you still saved $300+ over the "name brand" pipes.

This same crap went on over at M3Forum about Ebay Headers.

Turned out, the $200 headers flowed just as well, per the dyno, than AAs $1000 or Supersprint's $1400 headers. In fact, some people accused AA of actually using the same Chinese maker for their headers because they looked so similar, same with SS.

Depending on where you got them from, fitment could be a bitch, but for $800-1000+ savings is was well worth the hassle. Same thing with these, except fitment seems to be spot on due to the lack of complexity of a DP compared to a header.

A pipe is a pipe that is bent. As long as it is smooth on the inside, you get it coated for corrosion and heat, just for fun..it will provide gains over the stock. The main issue with the stock pipes is the built in cats that are slowing the airflow and creating the backpressure not allowing the turbos to spool up and flow more air. Not rocket science, well it is physics and fluid/air dynamics at work..but you get the point. There is no secret formula the big name guys have that make their pipes special. Their build quality might be better, don't doubt that by looking at them, but it doesn't mean they flow more air and provide more gains over the Chinese made one.

You can't compete with $3/day Chinese workers welding metal and shipping them overseas to us. Local labor/supplies and development are where the money is spent and reflects in the price from the well known brands.

+1. Can't wait to hear back from Raceland to finish my order with their new batch of DP. I just don't find any justification on paying $200+ on a pair of pipes.

ahhh yes waiting on this too or i might just have to pull the trigger and offer $300 on the 3" PLM downpipes, i wonder if the gains are significant enough to justify an extra $100 or so over raceland and that extra .5" of diameter....impatience aha
