Torque on oil drain plug

I am going to change my oil this weekend and was wondering how much torque should be applied to the drain plug when putting it back on. Should I buy a torque wrench or estimate the tightness myself? If I should do it without a torque wrench, what is the general rule for the tightness of the drain plug. Also, does anyone know the official torque specs of the drain plug as provided by BMW? Thanks.
