INTERIOR SHOTS! (Matte Charcoal from PYSpeed, Euphoria LEDs from F1Autohaus!)
(Pictures are in the next post)
Hey everyone, You've all seen pictures of my car, but I never bothered to take any interior shots because... well because my interior was pretty much stock. The mod bug bit me so I finally started working on the inside. I've been contemplating switching to the CF trim for a while, but I never did like the gloss finish available. As soon as the guys at PYSpeed started carrying the matte finishes, I was sold. The matte charcoal finish is really beautiful, and Eric@PYSpeed was really helpful with my questions and such. Thumbs up for a great vendor. As far as installation, my past experience with vinyl came in handy, but I consider the material extremely easy to work with. Because of the fabric backing, any air easily escapes, resulting in no air bubbles. I took my time with the trim, masking off certain areas of each piece and working on only 2-3 pieces a day. The DIY guides from Soni were very helpful as well. Now the LED interior kit from Mike@F1 Autohaus; this is an amazing product, and worth every penny! If you search through my past threads, you'll see that I've been hesitant on purchasing this kit since July. I wasn't sure how beige would look with LED lights, because I didn't want to lose the warm feeling the yellow lights gave off when matched with the beige dakota leather. However, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. This is the new 2010 kit, which is said to be brighter than the previous. It gives off a very cool ambiance. As I said in another thread, Mike is one of the best vendors on this forum. His service was superb, communication and shipping were satisfactory, and the lifetime warranty on this kit is a huge plus. As far as installation, it was easier than I thought it would be (I was initially worried about having to pull down my headliner, but found that removing the visor holders made things a lot easier). I would say the process took me no more than 30-40 minutes. For those who might ask, the iPhone dock was a custom job done by me. I didn't get the chance to take pictures, as I did not have my camera with me while I was making it. However, for those interested, I basically bought an iPhone dock from Apple, used sheet metal to make an enclosure, drilled through the ashtray, and ran two wires (the USB power cord and the AUX cable) from the back of the dock, through my center console, to the ports in the armrest. A much cheaper alternative to the SpecDock. Sorry for the long read; I wasn't intending on posting a review, but just wanted to keep my fellow forum members informed on the latest products available.
