Leather Seats

Any one else have this problem with the wrinkling of the side bolster of the seat. It is only happening on my passenger seat driver side is fine. These sport leather seats. 2009 e92

Should i use a leather conditioner?

Would this leather problem be covered under the new a car warranty?

this is normal wear and tear on the seats. Just put some leather conditioner and park your car in the shade or garage to prevent it from wearing out as fast too. But this is normal.

hmm... any particular way your passenger gets in/out of the car (leans elbow into it)?

are the bolsters set real right on that side?

surprised is the passenger side over driver.

no particular way of getting in and out of car. i adjusted bolster bought all the way in and all the way out. however the effected area is above where the bolsters adjust.

the person is leaning their elbows on the side bolsters. That is the only way the leather is sagging.

This can also apply to car leather and women: too much use will result in sagging or looseness.

Can't hurt to see what the dealer says - looks to me like too little foam or too much leather. Compression of foam from wear and tear should take several years.

the key to this is realizing that the outside of the bolster is also sagging (third pic), that part wouldn't be worn by a human unless someone sits on your center console regularly. i don't care how big of a person or how much wear happens on the inside part, the outside shouldn't look like that.

definitely a manufacturing defect.

I agree, def a manufacture defect. Mine still like new. Well except for the left bottom of driver side. Its peeling a little. I have tinted windows and always parked in garage.

I might've exaggerated a bit but it could be excessive reach-around to the backseat to move stuff or propping yourself up or fixing your slouch by digging in your elbows to the side boosters. That will apply pressure to the entire side bolsters. I'm getting a little sag similar to this but its hardly noticeable. Of course there's so many different possibilities but I wouldn't automatically jump straight to a manufacturers' defect.
