Decent Driving Roads Near Minneapolis
Can anyone recommend a decent road driving road near Mpls / St.Paul? Ideally something easily reachable in a couple of hours. I'm pretty new to this area so was wondering if I'm missing out on anything!
I'm hungry for some curves , but this being the Mid-West, such roads are few and far between. Been down Hwy 61 along the Miss. a couple of times nice scenery, but driving wise it was pretty boring really. I guess I am spoiled from growing up in Europe and just being out in CA and CO where I came across come sweet roads... |

I just found a fun little spot the other day. Its only like a block long but its up/down hill and its really curvy! If you take hwy 5 south from the airport, you'll hit Snelling on your left side before you get to 35E. Take a left on Snelling and its a nice little curvy fun area. Its just a small stretch, but its fun to hit if you're in the area. I'll probably think of some more spots and post 'em for ya. I've lived here 30 years so I should be able to come up with some more

Hwy 95 north of Stillwater, the St Croix Trail south of Stillwater through Afton to Prescot Wisconson. When in Wi Hwy 35 all the way from just north of the cities down to Lake Pepin is a really nice curvy 2 lane. Don't forget to stop in Hager City to see the skin show....

Hwy 54 in Wisconsin from Galesville to Black River Falls. Awesome curves...great driving route. my secret place to speed and have fun!! I drive 100 miles to this place for my thrills instead of going to Valley Fair.
