Cloning DDE
I'm looking at having a stock DDE and one for tune. For those who have cloned theirs with an used control unit. What program/tool did you use to clone your dde?

Ask the tuner you plan to have tune your car for you to do it. Bob @ BPC has done mine along with others that are running BPC tunes. |

Question: does the DDE have to be specifically one from a 335d? I see 335i ones on eBay. The description text claims they "fit" on a 335d. Not sure if this is true. If this is a ludicrous question, sorry.
If all the electronic H/w were the same including connections, it would be worth considering. |

digital diesel electronics (dde) Bosch ID: EDC17CP09 BMW ID DDE 7.x or 8.x The 335i uses the MSD80 & 81, they are no where near the same type of engine computer. As for cloning we can do it as well |

I have 2 DDE's, one stock and one tuned for my 335d. This was done by JR tuning. Recently did the same for my X5 35d with Bob at BPC. I have retained all of my emissions components in case they need to be reinstalled. You may be able to do it through INPA reading the CAS, but not positive on that. I used INPA to code a replacement FRM to my 335d.

I got my first one for $250 shipped and the second for $280. I used the cross/supercession list on real oem to verify the correct DDE's. Or better yet...just ask Bob at BPC, he is the man!
