Anyone used reflective heat tape on inlets/outlets?

I am going to be installing MMP Inlets and VVT Outlets with my Hexon RR600 and wanted to see if anyone has used DEI or similar gold or silver heat tape and if there were any benefits. Let me know your experience/thoughts.

I'm going to put DEI gold tape on my PR silicone inlets. In stock car, the inlets are not in this location at all. But passenger side relocated inlets, specifically the rear one, gets a lot hot. touching just the rear inlet, I can feel the heat since its inches away from the turbo manifold. I definitely think wrapping them with heat reflecting material will keep the IAT down.

jts1981 you went with VTT oulets now Buddy?

I know MMP outlets didn't fit your car, but apart from that , What's opinion with MMP outlets? quality, build and silicone being close the turbo hot side?

Gold wrapped oem for now. I plan on doing custom metal, or possibly VTT. Im waiting to here from another member about the fit with Wagner Evo II fmic on the e89.

MMP looked good. The silicone pieces were good quality. The pipes had a few marks from shipping but nothing to be concerned about. The only comment my mechanic said was the clamps could have been slightly longer so you would have more wiggle room when fitting.

For the gold wrap, it was kind of obvious to put it on the hot side by the exhaust manifold. For shits and giggles we ran a laser thermometer over the intake side. We noticed the AFE tray was absorbing a ton of heat so we plan to wrap this in gold too. When the time comes I'll take more heat measurements and share.
