"Hello, I need this car for crucial daily commute, but I'm not sure if the engine needs oil and figure old socks will help me get home while I spray oil mist from this cap thingy all over my motor, is this bad, how do I start now?" is the general vibe of this thread.

I worked at an oil change shop in my 20s. I will NEVER let them touch this car. Never. Oil change is easy to do.

1. Where did you get the aluminum oil filter cap? Who makes it?
2. When the engine initially didn't start, did it not rotate, or did it rotate but just not fire?
3. Do you have the lower and upper cabin airfilter parts, and they are just removed in the picture?
4. Have you scanned the car since it has started to run again.
5. Did you change the oil, or just change the oil filter housing cap?
6. Why is the airbox intake plenum broken?

Everyone who congratulated me i want to give them a warm Thank you jajaja

But much more work needs to be done on this Bimmer.

1. RiAiracing Aluminum oil filter cap for BMW 3-series google or: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0D97W31RC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

2. Uhh initially it was an issue with the electrical components and the oil leak (thank god) but im pretty sure that the crankshaft would NOT turn over even with the starter engaging. I had to use the Kroil penetrating oil in the spark plug holes over the course of three weeks to free it.

3. part of the front intake shroud on my vehicle is broken i have the air filter box but not the snorkel that connects it to the upper radiator area, i bought the car like this and i swear by the fact that i do not know what the original owner did to the piece.

4. Yes with INPA there are like 6 codes related to the Electric water pump, Ignition coils and cylinder misfires, but they can be fixed.

5. Both, and made sure to add plenty of oil back to the car (like 5 or 6 quarts i believe.)

6. I guess the owner or one of the owners before me broke it.

Q3. was about the cabin airfilter housing, not the engine airfliter. The cabin airfilter is two parts, the lower tray and the upper filter box.

Q5. The N52 takes 7 quarts of oil.

Q6. If the waterpump is showing codes, it most likely is on the way to a failure in the future. What are the codes?

It sounds like the engine needs plugs and coils.
