Creak / in rear suspension parts?
I have a really nasty creak in the driver's rear of the suspension somewhere. It creaks when I get in or out of the car and when I turn or hit bumps.
I think it might be the rear control arm or also known as the trailing arm. I found a DIY on the upper rear control arm on Pelican but can't find a DIY anywhere on an e90 for the lower rear control arm. Do these bushings even creak? The ball joint could be the culprit too, but I had my hand on the subframe bushing connected to the rear control arm and felt it vibrate a little as a buddy of mine moved the car up and down with a jack under the pumpkin. What is very common under there that makes such a distinct and profound squeak like this? I pulled up and down and side to side on the rotor, and it feels solid in each direction that I pull on it. Please Advise..... |

I chased that squeak for a while too.
Replaced left and right ball joints. No more squeak.
