"Basic correction Vehicle speed - This is a throttle correction vs speed, at low speeds the default values are very highly filtered, but since the above tables are in effect when the car is in gear or when you're clutched in, this table only affects neutral gear. So this table really just helps you rev the car out in neutral with a sharp throttle response. I thought this would possibly make gearshifts lsightly more responsive but doesn't seem to affect normal driving apart from neutral." Ok i will try to zero this table too. Should i 0.000 or 0.001 on this table? (it's not zeroed in the 1M bin btw, value are even higher than in the standard 18a0s) |

After more research, the Basic correction, Vehicle speed is applied as a multiplier to the Basic correction. So if you're already zeroed on basic correction, then this table doesn't do anything useful (hence the 1M just left this table alone)
If you're DCT trying to get your correction to be different vs speed (ie to reduce kerky starts) then this table might be useful to you.

great discovery guys! I've got a couple local DCT cars i'll try this on, but it feels great on my single turbo 6MT. If any of you guys are on flex fuel I8 or IJ, I've added the throttle xdf parameters to those flex fuel definition files for convince, feel free to use these

Ok I have read this a few times and think I might give it a shot, 2008 E93 335i AT.
Tell me if this all makes sense, get a bin (either my OEM one read out from MHD or RFP bin, open tuner pro, open the bin file, then grab the XDF matching my ECU from the first post, load that in tuner pro and zero out the tables for correction for the AT transmission tables as I have an AT and zero out the speed correction. Then save the bin and write it as a custom tune using MHD - that all sound correct. Is all zero's a good place to start - seems others are playing with the settings and not going to full zero'd out? Thanks Rob

Thanks yes understand that. Running mhd 2+ so may try it with the rfp stage 2 bin just to try it out and see how it feels.

I tried all zero's but ended up liking the feel of this better: Zero out basic correction only 2K and above 90% reduction to speed correction tables. Using RFP stage 2 bin modified for methanol 2008 N54 135i 6AT |

How do you like the RFP flash compared to MHD (assuming you ran MHD at some point).

But to answer your question, I asked Ken (Wedge tuning) to modify one of the MHD Stage 2+ E30 maps for me so that I could run it with methanol as I don't have access to E85. It is very smooth and stable and fast. I recently tried the RFP stage 2 map (modified for methanol) and found it a bit more aggressive down low, but once I dug into the tables, some of the tuning differences could easily be replicated into either tune. For example, RFP maxes out the Boost Limit Multiplier tables so boost ramps up very aggressively, whereas on Ken's tune the boost control is more refined and progressive. The wedge map has more timing up top so it felt faster in that rpm range, whereas the RFP map was more aggresive down low due to the quick boost ramp up. My point is that if you know which tables to use, you can make them perform very similarly with a few minor changes. What's nice about the RFP maps is they are not encrypted and you can fine tune them to your liking. I will often try things out on the RFP map (like coolant setpoints and the recent throttle correction tables) to see how they feel, and then send the changes to Ken to incorporate into my custom bin. |

Pretty happy with my first crack at this, throttle response is so nice very happy with the starting point, so thanks all for pointing me in the right direction. Also don't mind the RFP bin (EDIT - changed my mind, really don't like the RFP map much especially with heavy throttle - car doesn't like it surges, oscillates, think it is overshooting target overall scares me a bit) hopefully MHD adds it in as a flash time option, makes a huge difference to drive-ability of the car.

Ok I tried reading through this and it seemed as if the information got garbled up in my head so if someone could help me that would be great. I have a 135i 6MT with an I8 dme. Currently running a jb4 BEF done with mhd. I'm pretty comfortable with working in tuner pro so if you just direct me in sure I could get it working properly
