335xi M Sports Package sway bars
Quick question, I’m considering getting upgraded sway bars for my XI and was wondering if the N55 335xi w/ M sport package came with better sway bars than a non M sport package N54 335xi?
Are they compatible and worth the swap? Thanks!

All xDrive cars (regardless of basic sport package or M-Sport package options) DO NOT come with sport suspension.
It's unfortunate (IMO the base suspension is pretty poor) but the front axles on the xDrive system don't allow any form of factory sport suspension. |

Don't bother wasting money on bars when you can use to go full coilovers from FEAL. Probably the best you can get for xDrive for the money. Go higher spring rates.

OP already has BC coils according to his sig. A front bar can gain a little cornering grip on a macphearson front car due to the (positive) dynamic camber gain.

Wouldn't there be less negative camber on outside wheel with the bar and the inside spring pushing the outside control arm back down?
I assume BC coils can use upgrade springs? Are they 2.5" or 60mm? A pair can be had for $180 range from most sellers. |

why would coilovers be a solution to a sway bar?
pretty sure the only front sway bar option we have is the $500-ish UCC bar

Better spend the money on actual suspension upgrade. Bars are for tuning front and rear over and under steer balance. |

From autox to win: "Things get really interesting when we have a front McStrut suspension to deal with. McStruts have really crappy camber compensation in roll; the suspension does not gain negative camber when compressed like a double A arm does. This means that as the car rolls, it is trying to pry the outside front increasingly positive in camber, to the detriment of front grip. The usual hot ticket for setting up a front McStrut is to admit that one happy tire usually makes more grip than a pair of pissed off tires, so you slap a lot of front bar on the car, get 100% front lateral weight transfer (lifting the inside front off the ground in the process) and then set the static camber such that the outside front tire is in its Happy Place at full roll - look at any fast M3 or CamaroStang."

Thanks. I've had only Double A front for a while now. Didn't do much to the strut equipped cars.
Too bad the A90 Zupra didn't get double A on front like the latest BMWs. Even cheap G20 3 Series got it. |
