DSC, DBC and Tyre pressure error
Had this happen yesterday after giving it a bit of a boot. Seems to be exactly the same as this post: www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1101734 Anyone had this happen before and cost to replace/repair? ( i found a repair kit in my searches) Will take it to Hills Euro tomorrow and have it checked out as I am not a mechanic. On Friday I did clean my brakes and hubs on the right hand side of the car and clipped the brake sensor wire on the right rear, but it didn't break the wire. However, drove all day Friday without any errors. Thanks Last edited by Montye90; 01-14-2017 at 02:45 PM.. |

Hmm... Damaging the brake sensor wire would have yielded an error telling you your brakes are worn and require replacement (I've done this myself).
I've had these errors pop up before due to an under-charged battery (listening to music for hours when replacing my handbrake shoes). Car turned on OK, didn't struggle too much on crank up, but was drained enough to throw these codes. After a lengthy drive the errors disappeared. |

Which warning lights are they? And is the warning light yellow or red?

Thanks to everyone for their replies, wow. This is the most helpful forum I have been on.
Will take some photo's of the lights once my mates leave. I think from memory it was a yellow light where the handbrake signal is. Will 100% get it shortly. I did have the car on for a while (accessory) whilst running my old cable up to the drivers side vent for my android MHD auto logger. So having flat battery is plausible. Lucky I ordered a ProjectA IC2500. Thanks again. |

Images uploaded.
So when I started the car, got the usual now DSC and Tyre pressure sensor warning. Once I started driving, errors cleared. Once I turned a corner, the error came back. On the way back from the shops, I gave it a boot, no errors at that stage and got an Engine Check Light error, also attached. |

Check your brake fluid level. If it's low, several warning lights (the ones you have mentioned) will be displayed but it usually also includes the brake warning light, i.e. exclamation mark in a circle with "brackets" around it - the half engine warning light usually wouldn't appear though, which means it might be something other than low brake fluid. The fluid might be well above the minimum mark and only 1cm below the maximum mark but it will still trigger the warning lights. They'll all disappear once the fluid is refilled, although, you may need to do an in-dash reset on the tyre warning.

If it's low brake fluid, it might just be due to brake pad wear. When you put in new pads, you have to pry back the pistons, which causes the brake fluid to rise back up in the reservoir. So if you top up the fluid and your pads are worn, don't forget to remove some fluid when eventually replacing your pads, otherwise it can overflow.
Hopefully you get a few ideas and it's one of them for an easy fix. |

135, checked brake fluid levels, smidge under max so no issues there. Phelo, tried turning the steering wheel from left all the way to right, didn't clear the error.
When I dropped my daughter off at Kindy this morning, no issues at all, no errors. On the way back, DSC error and what not came back. I also did a WOT and was able to reproduce the Engine fault code too. Car is booked in with Oscar at Hill Eurohaus tomorrow morning. Hopefully a quick fix so I can concentrate on getting my down pipes installed . I still think I must of stuffed the battery during the running of my DCAN to OTB cable or clipping the brake sensor wire when cleaning off the rust. That is the only thing that has changed. |

If there is something wrong with your battery voltage then you will throw pretty much all of the above codes.
I've experienced with both low voltage due to a dying and flat battery and also high voltage due a battery fault.

I had a similar issue.
My problem was with the steering angle sensor being out of calibration. To fix it, I hooked up the car to INPA, turned the car on with engine off and with steering wheel nice and straight, and then i recalibrated the steering angle sensor. Caveat here is you need to have the INPA software and know how to use it lol. What area are you in? could meet up and give you a hand. Alternatively, our N54 Yoda could lend an assist.

Hi Timot, thanks for the offer mate really appreciate it, but I live in Sydney. Going to get Oscar at Hills Eurohaus to check it out tomorrow. Might grab some additional goodies whilst I am there...

Boys at Hills found the issue;n ew Steering Angle Sensor on order. Half Engine CEL is due to a boost leak. The guys are checking all possible culprits. Not cheap, but will be back on the road. If I wanted cheap, would have bought a Japanese car.

(If it doesn't then I'd look at your maf and tmap - although these are much rarer) My mechanic charged $250 labour for the above*. Parts cost me roughly $270 landed from fcp euro. Use that as a guide (although labour cost was mates rates) |

what id I tell YA?! Ozzie and Oscar sure know how the ins and outs of our platform. Steering angle sensor, try the cleaning of it instead of replacing it. Cleaning for me has got rid of it and is FARRRRR cheaper. Glad the half engine CEL was just a boost leak
